Show off that mantis already Brian!

Ok ok, but just one. "thumbsup"

This is Demo's build so I don't wanna tread on toes.

The crew posted up here in the camper now that I have it moved up to WV. Now its time to find some crawlin ground to get some practice in. The little I have run the Mantis, I feel very confident in the control I have with it and want to jump into a comp as soon as possible. Hate that I misses the local one with the NC boys but needed to get the home away from home moved up. I will be trying to get some video up some time soon.

With all the work I've been putting into my Southern Buggy and my YSS DD I have neglected the Mantis a bit. Got around to making a few adjustment tonight a pulled a ton more steering out of her.

Also put some panels on to dress her up a bit. Ignore the chipped paint, needs to be redone in the near future.

Hope to get her out to a comp with either the boys in NC or SC next month to see what she can do.

Not sure how I missed this thread all this time...really liking you Mantis. Read the entire thread...didn't notice what you'd done with the rear weights though. Also curious what your RTR weight is.

Mine has seen many a mile of happy rock and likes it a bit heavy...nice build Demo "thumbsup"

Looking very nice. Is that just a random pattern cut in the tires or does it say something? Almost looks like you tried to spell something out.

It's a half X pattern on the outside of the tire and a horizontal cut across the inside. The thinking behind that was that when turned the outside the groves would be straight on to the desired direction of movement.

Blue Monkey LCG kit for the rear weights, not sure how much is on there but I think it's two big and two small half rings.
RTR weight hasn't been checked yet but she is a porker for sure. Over 5lbs I'm sure. The little I have tested it, it is very planted and highly predictable. This is the first XR I have build and the first crawler so I don't have anything to compare it to but I am very happy with the performance as of now.

everybody that has seen mine is saying it's too heavy...but the Mantis chassis really likes the weight...mine is a bit of a porker as well but really nice to handle and crawl with. I'm very pleased at how it performs.
