I'm terrible at math but I think it would be to the 3rd power :lmao: Anyways, its about that time... Since obtaining Chino63's 83 Hilux I now needed a mini me version of it so yesterday and today I got to work making that happen. It did require scrapping the last 1.55 Yota I was going to build, Ill come back to that body at another time.

Yesterday I big box of goodies from RC4WD showed up "thumbsup"

RPP was out of stock on the Axial Trepadors and since the 1:1 sports them they were a must, hit ebay up and landed a set of 5 w/wheels for a descent deal and they were unglued which was a plus

Getting them mounted up, they went together no problem despite the tires being pretty soft and pliable

Using the rolling chassis from the last build. It features a Chino equal frame width set up. I flattened the rails as per deans advice and chopped the rear cross members and spaced the front so that they frame can accommodate the RC4WD Ultimate Yota axles. Currently set up with with Chino leafs and a RC4WD U bolt kit.

I originally was building the yota on a bit of a budget, but on this one I sprang for the good stuff and ditched the parts box shocks for some scale shocks from RC4WD to match the bilsteins on the 1:1

Recently I grabbed a TF2 chassis with motor and trans from classifieds. The PO kinda drilled gapping holes in the frame rendering it pretty much worthless so I stole the rear shock cross member from it for this build

Dean had hooked me up with a new Tamiya Hilux cab painted to match the 1:1 but I soon realized I didnt have the correct grill or other various parts to finish it so I figured it would be easier to just order a complete TF2 body set. I ordered it in the primer gray, makes me crazy when the yellow shows through my other one.

Dean had also tossed in a fresh can of paint to get the job done, THANKS dude!

It was to late to start painting and while staring at the TF2 chassis I just robbed the rear cross member from I started thinking about what trans set up I was going to use in this...these were suppose to go in the Pardonmyn00b 4runner TF2...but they do look good in here!

Tomorrow before work I am hoping to get the N00b inner fender well and radiator kit in the front. Maybe have time to braze up some sliders and bumpers, have to see what time I get my ass out of bed :ror:

Thanks for looking

Thanks John, looking forward to the event for sure "thumbsup"

Awesome "thumbsup"

good to see you building again mike!

Thanks guys, it's been a long time since I have built something up, the new 1:1 got me motivated. Also, I have been working on EddieVedders 4runner build as well an old school clod build. You can see the door panels for the 4runner in the bench. Just finished them waiting to lay some paint on them now that the weather is breaking here.

I disassembled the chassis last night after cutting out the pardonmynoob inner fender well and radiator support kit. This morning I painted the chassis flat black and inner fender wells and rad support. Assembly begins tomorrow and maybe some more tube work.

Great start Mike! "thumbsup"

One thing I recommend doing is cutting the frame and brazing it back together at the front like I did on mine. It helps fix the gap between the frame and grill as well as increase the caster and help with the approach angle.

I'm not sure what your interior plans are but I've got one of those fancy ebay dash kits opened but untouched if you're interested in it.

I saw your 1:1 and RC truck picture on Instagram..

Yup, I like to take pictures, Iphone 5 camera rocks it out. So I take a lot and post them on there. I kinda like it bet then FB except for the annoying get more likes spammer and occasional troll.

You build so amazing yota's sir.

Thanks!

Quick update before bed. had a rough day yesterday, and had to put my one pup to rest  So I wanted to keep my mind off things so I spent some time in the garage yesterday afterwards and all day today on my days off from work. Here is where I am at

Started on the interior, Amusing parts Bruiser interior kit off ebay. These are awesome, super detailed. I wanted the correct center part of the horn so I used part of a Dinky steering wheel kit and sanded the center section down and glued it on. Still gotta finish painting it. Also got to add key and cylinder, key release button, and wiper switch.

Inside we got the Amusing parts dash and dinky floor pan. I used the Dinky interior dash sticker sheet for the correct cluster and head lights and cigarette lighter decals as well. I still have to finish some details on dash like the black bezels on heater vents, glass over the cluster and some other stuff.

Youll also notice that new grill badge from MThead, period correct 83' badge emblem

Stripped the chrome off of a Tamiya roll bar and flat blacked it. Also built a rear bumper but I am not happy with it...I screwed up and it blocks the marker light...already started building up a new one.

Front bumper took two tries, I screwed the 1st one up when I didnt realize the one side of the front stinger part was longer and the hole thing was crooked but I already brazed on the side supports so I just scrapped. This one came out MINT though. Just gotta add the RC4WD viking winch fair lead now

More tomorrow "thumbsup"

you said MINT. lol

Looks great pal. I'll check it out on thursday. The black 4runner in the background looks like its almost ready to wheel

Worked on this the other morning and today before work. Re did the rear bumper, got the sliders done, set them so they stick out in the back a lil bit more in the back then the front. Cut up old Tlt suspension brackets and brazed them to the sliders so the body will bolt up at the bottom of the cab like it would in a tf2.

Couple of pics, tomorrow I'll remove everything and clean them and get some flat black on them

Killer work Mike, does that body come with a drop bed?

Yeup, mojave body comes with the bed like that and with the vent windows, no hole in the hood either. I feel like these bodies are bit thicker material then the Tamiyas too. Plus the molded in gray is nice for when the paint scratched rather then seeing white "thumbsup"
