I know there are videos of lipo fires, but has anyone but me ever seen a nimh cell blow out the side of a rig? They really don't care what's in front of them; they just break through chassis, panels, and bodies and then keep flying
If huge price difference, you would probably want the cheaper DC power input.
I use one of these to charge my batteries when I don't know what power source is available. I got it for 25 bucks used.
It does ac or dc input. Charges up to 3s. I either plug it into a wall or use the alligator clips and use my car battery.

You won't find any "ac only" chargers. They will be "dc only" or AC/DC.Both would be nice just in case but if huge price difference then just a/c

Next is make sure they are properly discharged before recharging.
No need to do this. That's a Nimh deal.
It was more of a nicad thing. Nimh cells were brought into rc because they have a low memory.
