locked diff?

Now I've got a noob question about SCX10 dif: how can it possibly be unlocked with only 2 bevels?
If you look at real differential and compare it to what you have in SCX10 will notice some difference. The "heavy duty locker" is actually an adaptor to mount axles directly in crown wheel. How can one make it work as differential without those additional gears??

Pic for reference

And SCX10 from above

The only answer comes in my mind is slipping.

You're correct, the diffs are locked. However can be unlocked with the additional spider gears in the diff case in place of the locker. But who'd wanna do that!?
