Complete metal chassis for under $70

theres no holes to mount the body...plus who knows how sturdy it really is being a Topcad part...lol
Topcad parts that don't have movable parts aren't bad.

I almost want to buy that to see how much of a wadded up mess it turn into!
Mess it turned into? Was there another one and they changed it or something?

from the welds it looks like one could break it by squeezing it...
I'm sorry but I don't agree with that. From the looks of them the welds look pretty good.If anything they look a little to thick for what they are to hold.

I'm really looking for someone who has it or has had it.I'm not looking to start another "LET'S BASH TOPCAD" thread.Just one to find out a little info for some friends is all.

It doesnt look too bad. It worries me theres no body mounting holes but id you look at the rear cage it has mounting points for a rear cover

honestly looks like a waste of cash to me. i had a rollcage like that for my slash 4x4. flipped it a few times and the cage was bent up with a few broken welds. if you buy a cage you should pay more for a quality one so you wont have to buy another.

I didn't know topcad made a cage for the slash. Was it on sale online some where?I'd like to check it out. But about the wraith cage. $70. -vs- $400 to close to $1000 isn't really a fair comparison. If you buy the $70 one and don't like it you're not out a lot of money. Unlike the big money you'll pay for a custom built one.

I'd buy it, and if it brakes re weld it. I'd be more pissed if I spent $400 for a custom cage and it broke over $70, and it's too easy to make body mounts, I know some people that run top cad parts on crawler with PRO4 setup, and I run all topcad parts on my wraith and I like them...

My buddy ordered one of these, I'll check with him to see what he thinks of it. I'll be back...

Edit: He got an email stating it was on backorder, so he cancelled his order.

I too have spent countless hours building rigs. I've been in this hobby for over 25 years. But I'm not looking to compare $400+ rigs to this.I'm looking for someone who has one. And you're an elitist?
So you think everything should be ruled by one special group? That just doesn't seem very fair to me. If this were a elitist society There would only be one kind of car because the 'elite" of the car companies would rule. That would be the same with everything else too. Food, cloths, houses.....AND OMG RC's...So I'll not be signing up to be an elitist any time soon.

I think the TopCad chassis looks pretty junky! Powder coating can cover lots of flaws, I think. I guess if you have a spare $70.00 floating around it wouldn't hurt to try it. I mean someone has to be a tester, eh?? I wish I could toss money around!! Make it rain!! hehehe :)

Stick with the products that you know are known for good quality and not waste the money in the first place. The places that break on the plastic cage will probably break on the metal version too. There is also a reason why the majority of RCC does not recommend TopCad or Integy. For one: MADE IN CHINA and number 2, the products just plain suck. They use the cheapest metals they can find and the cheapest procedures of making the product.

Everyone who has made a metal chassis knows the amount of time and work that is put in it and then most sell it off for high dollar prices. Being that the cage is sold for $67 seems very sketchy to me.

I can remember a time not all that long ago when Integy was the king of Axial parts.I know of a lot of ax-10's on here that were all decked out in Integy parts....lol Hell I had two of my own.If a part works like I want it to it doesn't matter to me if it cost $1 or $1000. It doesn't matter who makes the part either. If it works for what I need it for I'll use it. So all those made in china parts used to be king of the hill and us USA boys fallowed their lead. But like I said before I'm not looking for a "bash" topcad thread. Just info from someone who's had the cage...that's it.

That's why I'm looking for someone who's already got one. So My buddy doesn't have to waste his money if it's junk. But no one's found this thread that has one yet.
