I turned 44 in September and just today watched AMERICAN GRAFFITI for the first time. Enjoyed it very much. Lots of cool cars. I also learned about THX 138
Amusing looking back on some of the actors and how young they (looked)were in the movie.

One of my favorite movies. Filmed here in my home town of modesto. They still do Graffiti week every june.

Han Solo in a cowboy hat!?

I remember watching that movie for the 1st time when I was a teenager, with my Dad.
I kept thinking to myself, this is a crazy movie.
It was a cast of superstars, with a catchy story line, and some beautiful cars..
I still to this day want to build a Tri-five chevy..

The other one I remember watching was Hollywood Knights.

Behind every good man there is a woman, and that woman was Martha Washington, man, and everyday George would come home, she would have a big fat bowl waiting for him, man, when he come in the door, man, she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man.

That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.

"THX1138" was from 1971 and was George Lucas's first major hit movie.

He has since grown fond of dropping the THX138, THX or 1138 throughout his movies. From droid number in Star Wars, to prison cell numbers, appearing on computer screens, storm trooper suits, gate numbers, and several other hidden (and not so hidden) back scene locations in all of his other Star Wars sequel films.

Including other films such as the license plate on Milners coupe as THX138, 1138 appears in the last seconds of the film "george Lucas in Love" as Lucas' college dorm room address, the movie Maniac Mansion has an Edsel with the license plate "THX1138", mindbenders has a phone bill total showing $1,138, the Hot Rod car in the beginning of Indiana Jones license plate is THX138, the wing number on the plane in that movie is also THX138.... He hid it a LOT throughout his films in homage to his first big success film THX1138.

He also has a thing for dropping the number "327" throughout his films, but not sure the history or meaning to that one.

Yes, I am a Lucas fan.

Actually, the setting was supposed to be Modesto but, most of the film was shot in Petaluma.

I remember seeing it in a drive-in when it first came out.Oldest brother took us to see it."thumbsup"

Me and my 2 year old will sit down and watch Hollywood nights this weekend for the 100th time . One of my faves.

I've been looking for a copy of 2 lane blacktop for so long now it's not even funny I got the repop of American graffiti witch came with a dig copy so I have it with me where ever I go

love the first, but american graffiti 2, not so much.

dirty mary crazy larry, vanishing point... vintage car movies where the cars are just as much a hero as the actors are awesome.

i just cant get into the whole fast and furious thing though. in those the cars are basically disposable.

also love the gto in my science project, racing the electricity in the powerlines.
