So just ran my first pack through my wraith and it completely destroyed 1 hub destroyed 2 beyond use and left 1 decent. What hubs should I replace them with?

I'm looking at the vanquishes but can't decide which width to use and was wondering if there was another, less expensive option.

yea, just put 12mm hexes on it, thats what I did with mine..now I can run any 2.2 12mm hex wheel I want...much cheaper than vanquish

But I like the trail ready wheels that came with the the wraith and I need the hubs to run them.

You will soon find out that the plastic trail readys are garbage and can't hold the tire tight enough. Do yourself good try to pick up some alum. wheels that use a 12 mm hex mount design and you will never have a problem ever again in that area of the truck.

Also, be sure all wheel nuts are tight before every run. If one looses up a little it will shred the hub. I would also advise to use steel locknuts vs. the stock alum. ones.

$30 is expensive?

I think most go with a .350 to .450. Your other option is to get a set of $100 aluminum wheels...

yup, when you can get a set of wraith hexes for 6.00 with free shipping...

the trail ready bead locks are garbage..dont hold a bead for long..I got a good set of proline eight shooter rims for my tires for 20.00 and the 6.00 for hexes...much cheaper solution and just as nice to me...but your mileage may vary..

and use the traxxas serrated wheel nuts...they wont loosen up

He won't need the slw hub if he changes to hexes. What are you seeing to write that statement?

....yes he will because the PSC Wraith wheels come with plastic hubs that accept the axle pin, not a 12mm hex.
The best fix is to replace the plastic hub with a SLW hub and 12mm hexs.

you also need new screws for the slw hubs. the stock ps ones are metric and the vp hubs are not. you can buy stainless screws from vp or just pick some up elsewhere.

and for the record, you will need both the hubs and the hexes.

thats why I said I got different wheels, the trail ready beadlocks are garbage..my stock BFG tires kept pulling out of the beads. so for less money than the SLW vanquish hubs cost, I got a set of hexes AND 4 proline eight shooter wheels and no longer had the issue of the beads pulling out of the wheels...

30.00 for slw VP hubs just to be able to use the garbage stock beadlocks.....or 26.00 for 4 hexes and 4 new proline eight shooter chrome beadlock wheels with metal rings...no brainer in my opinion.. "thumbsup"

But you still have to deal with a fixed offset. If you are wanting to widen your axle width or narrow it, that's when you go with the SLW hubs. Also, when you want to get some VP wheels, that's one less thing that you don't have to put in your cart and it has already paid for itself.

Personally, I would like to have metal on metal contact when we're talking about hubs and hexes. Aluminum hexes and SLW hubs/aluminum wheels and being produced in the USA have my vote.
