SCX10 Jeep Rubicon transforms into Camp a Girls Jeep

That canoe looks great on that Rubicon! Where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking? My son saw it and now wants one on his scx10. It might look a little off on a Trail Honcho, but hey, who am I to decide what he should put on his truck? Thanks in advance.

That's the next generation of R/C enthusiasts right there. Good job *dad* "thumbsup"
Her and my son both are. It's crazy how much they love this hobby. Before you know it they will be teaching dad some new stuff. lol.. Thanks again for your kind comments my friend. ;-)

Wow, I'd have loved to do something like that with my Dad.
Only, maybe not in pink :)
It is a lot of fun working with my kids. I enjoy doing these videos with my daughter and son. Cant wait for my littlest to get big enough to start to get involved in this hobby. He loves watching them. It's funny cause the pink starts to grow on me the more I see it. Crazy! lol.. My daughter has some cool taste thats for sure. ;-)

Thanks so much my friend. Here is all the info so you can copy and paste it.
- Hand-Crafted Wooden Canoe with Paddles Miniature Replica (1-pc) 11-inch
(purchased from Amazon.com)
One of those would look so cool on your sons trail honcho. I've seen one like it mounted on a honcho before. That would look cool to see. Happy trailing my friend. ;-)

Just picked a wooden canoe kit up at my LHS. They had it, I had to buy it. You know how that goes. Working on it as we speak. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.

Edit: Turns out I could've saved $10 and 2 days of work buying the same one you did(live and learn)

At 2:49, what was your daughter rubbing onto the body to strip/thin the paint?
Thanks
Sorry I didnt get back with you sooner. Been really busy working a ton of hours lately.

So my daughter started out using some 220 grit sandpaper ( the higher the grit the finer the finish, 400 perfect ) Then she was using some Mineral Spirits to clean it up and polish it up. The mineral spirits arent as rough on the lexan like other products can be, but it takes for ever using just mineral spirits. We did do it on one light, but we had to scuff it up with sandpaper a little and then it was a lot of time spent rubbing it. It comes off, but I bet it was about 30 to 45 minutes just to do one light. So it's not the most effective way, but it works great to polish up and clean the edges up really nice. So we removed most of the paint by sanding it and then polishing it with mineral spirits. Here is the video we did on how to remove the paint from your RTR body.

Hope this helps you out some and again sorry it took a bit to get back with you this. ;-)

Its cool that they had one at your LHS. Sometimes it is nice to get something right now when you want it verses waiting for it to ship and all that junk even if you pay a bit up front. Plus if I can find something local I'm all about supporting my local hobby shops and business first then I'll get it online if no one has it. I bet it looks cool. "thumbsup"

Hey thanks.
Really good. I have an SCX10 JK too which I want to put some lights in.
Thanks again, much appreciated,
Trillo

Yep, I buy my stuff local when I can(not the easiest thing to do in Alaska) If we didnt, who would we go to for emergency replacement parts? Thanks for the canoe idea, it actually turned out pretty good. The kid's happy and that's all that matters. Thanks again.

Thats awesome bro! You are welcome. ;-)

Well my friends, we thought it would be cool to add something with a bit of flavor to my daughters Jeep Rubicon. It might the first of its kind on a RC. She sure loves the look of it.
