Picked this think up missing a bunch of parts but hey it was cheap and has been entertaining to fix up. Since parts are scarce I decided to commit it to a life of ease. I wanted a drifter so it just fell into place. Started making a new chassis for it. Plenty of room for electronics and interior. Going to scoop up a body from the lhs tomorrow and do it up nice. Not a great car and I have seen very few modded up but my very first hobby grade rc was a 4tec so I figured what the hell why not save it from the junk pile. Got to pick up some shocks and some battery and body mounts.

Going to cut out a new shock tower and drill holes everywhere to dress it up a little too. Plan is to have interior with brazed roll cage.

Looks good so far, always wanted a drift car but don't have a good surface to drift on. Well I got all hardwood floors but think the girlfriend and dogs would get tired of it pretty fast lol.

Well got a little closer. Ordered some nitro 4tec shocks and my battery hold downs. I will make some shock towers with provisions for hidden body mounts. Speaking of which hobby shop had a wrx and a 2010 camaro. I was gonna go subi but the muscle car guy inside won out. Order gunmetal Grey for the color. Anyone know if a larger pully can be added for a cs setup. Gonna try.

Nice work on the 4Tec! I am in the middle of refurbing mine, as well. I was going to go the custom chassis route with mine but found a carbon chassis set for it. Can't find the aluminum standoffs or bellcrank mounts, so I made my own. I LOVE the custom body mounts!! I actually have a set of adjustable aluminum Velcro mounts that I am going to incorporate into my build when I get my next body. All my bodies have holes now, so I left the posts on there. I'm getting into the drift thing, as well. Awesome job, man.

Built this last night.

Recently built this from the ground up. A 1/16th Traxxas Fiesta that drifts awesome.

Yea you were probably the only other person online working on one when I started looking. I found the carbon chassis but I didn't want to drop 60 bucks on it. Figured with the larger lower deck I will have more room for stuff and the cage tie in points. Cool to see someone else in the same boat. Upgrading there "junk"

Yeah, I know it was pricey for the chassis. For me, it was like finding a jewel that I had been looking for years to find. As soon as I heard where to get it, I didn't even give it a thought, I just bought. I did find a rear carbon tower on ebay, but the guy wanted $40 just for the one! Pass. One thing I need to do is get some exact measurements and get some proper length screws. What I have will work, but I don't know for how long. None of my aluminum mounts will work on this car, so I may have to copy yours. Not having posts sticking up would be nice.

Wow, was that the Traxxas chassis? There can't be many of those out there, I've had mine since '99!

Thinking about making it a shelf queen though, parts are getting hard to come by and I don't want to ruin that chassis!

Chassis prettied up a little. I would like to point out this is done with a vice, drill, a hacksaw, various files, and some scotchbrite. Anyone can do this.

For the holes yes. This chassis is larger to make room for electronics and cage tie in points.

I like the hidden body mounts. I hate that extra tall untrimmed body posts have somehow become a fad in the drift/touring car community.
