3D Printed Early Bronco Grill

I love the blue and white paint scheme. It definitely makes the grill pop. Where did you get your 3D printer and CAD software from?

So I revised the grill to have a slight curve vertically and horizontally. I uploaded it to Shapeways.com to have it professionally printed on a high definition 3D printer and it turned out great. It looks good in the lexan body. If you own the same body and want this grill let me know and I'll give you a link and you can order one from Shapeways.com there's a grill mount available also that I made but it is not as sturdy as the grill unless you order it in metal. You can have these made in many different materials. I ordered mine in white strong & flexible polished for $26.61. You can get a stainless steel one but for $138.49.

The parts can be bought here. The files can also be down loaded here if you have your own 3D printer. I did not mark up the price. The price is for materials and Shapeways fees only. Let me know if any one wants to try it in Stainless steel and I will enable it as an option. It is expensive.

Enjoy,

Darrell

Does the grill stay attached to the frame when you remove the body? I assume that's what the standoffs coming off the back of the grill are for.

Headlight buckets just a little bigger IMO, but, damn, nice work man. I am waiting on the JConcepts Bronco body for my ascender. Not sure what's gonna come with that, probably just a sticker, but, nice to see this is available. "thumbsup"

Any update on this?

I am in the process of buying an HPI Bronco body and I am looking at purchasing this grill..

Did you ever get this grill mounted? Was wondering what it will look like on the HPI body? Got a body sittin on my workbench. Fixing to use it on my Vaterra for now and I am thinking about getting this grill..

Crap, Disregard , I am retarded..

I saw the updated pics on first page. SOLD!

Be buying mine today. Great job man."thumbsup"

yes, the grill stays attached to the frame. I'll add some pictures of how it is mounted on my rig soon.

I was wondering if you had any recent pics of the grill.. The first draft looked great, I can only imagine what the updated version looks like!

Looks good! I've got a PL bronco (with a decent styrene grill already) but would love to have the .stl file if you wouldn't mind. I've got my 3d printer pretty damn dialed in (printing a full VW bus body at the moment) and would appreciate having the .stl on file, just in case.

The 3d printer is about my favorite modeling tool besides a dremel and a well calibrated eye-crometer!

Do the axial headlight lenses work in these buckets? What turn signal lenses are used? Thanks, that is a great looking grille.
Also, any progress on tail lights?
