Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

OK, here's some pic's of the newly assembled Fatbike. I put all the stuff from my Minnesota on here and added XT hydraulic's and a DT Swiss BigRide wheel set. Turned out pretty nice, it's lighter than my Niner RIP, lol.

Did some "gravel grinding" today for a couple hours. We have a nice network of Rails to Trails around the Burgh. Can't wait to get it on some single track this week.

WORST. RIDE. EVER.

XT brakes are nice, nice fatty. :lmao: "thumbsup"8)

Hpiguy,
Ouch started with loose chainring bolts prolly? Are you ok and how far did you walk?

It was a race face NW ring, second ride on it, chainring bolts were installed with loctite, so I don't know. I didn't get hurt, but thanks for asking. I walked over 3 miles to get back to the truck.

My mom is 3rd best and she was on a Schwinn Scrambler with a banana seat.

May have been tight, but not fully seated on the crank, or cocked to one side. I have the same exact gear with about ten rides on it, so far so good. I am gonna check it though....you got me nervous:).

^^ LOL Who knows. I wouldn't worry too much, remember I'm the same guy that sheared a chain pin last year also. I think I just have a nack for finding bad batches of parts.

Started off at the Coliseum:

Went up the Northwest Trail:

And went through Mapleton Park and ended up at my work (Cabela's)

I'll probably end up getting one of the hydration packs we sell at work that's for hiking, it has the same water capacity (2L) but has more storage space. The Camelbak I have now is great, I just can't put a lock in there, let alone my helmet if I want to go into someplace.

Yay new parts! I've got a Zee rd incoming for the DH sled. Now I just need to look for a shifter and maybe some better, less noisy brakes.

Nice choice on the rd! Zee stuff is really good for the money. Can't go wrong with a matching shifter, or even a Saint shifter if you're feeling fancy. What brakes do you have now?

New parts are great. I should have a Monarch Plus Debonair rear shock in hand tomorrow for my bike.

I'm probably going to end up getting the saint shifter. I have formula T1s right now. I feel like I could use more power. Plus they're kinda noisey and rub like no tomorrow.

got another fat flat... think this one was a puncture.

Hmm.....I'm guessing you didn't go tubeless yet?

You know, if you don't want to go tubeless you "can" run the sealant in your tubes also. Defeats the purpose of making the wheels lighter but will also help prevent you from getting flats. "thumbsup"
