Hey guys, finally re-activated my account after being out of crawling for a while. Anyways, new to the Temecula valley and stumbled on this thread. I absolutely love running RCs and have been in the hobby most my life.... it would be cool to find some local guys who are down to hit the trails!
Do any of you all run at the creek behind Old Town on Saturday mornings? or is it just evenings?
Do most folks that run on these weekend meetups run scalers, crawlers, or what? Just curious as my rigs are SCX10s.

We have been running in the evening because it gets hot so quick in the mornings, when it cools down we do alot of morning runs, at the creek we run scalers and if we go to Rainbow its Wraiths but you are welcome to run your SCX10s whenever we go, we have other guys that run them with the Wraiths "thumbsup"

Good call, thanks for the info! Speaking of Wraiths versus SCX10s, what kind of electric setups are the majority running? Reason I ask, is that I know a lot of folks seem to run their scalers/crawlers with pretty fast setups... mine is setup with a 35t motor and 2S lipo so it's walking pace.... which isnt fast at all.
Do you guys just go along at a nice walking pace or do ya'll have 3S brushless setups etc for more of "rock racing" style running? (I've been looking for an excuse to buy a wraith lol)
Oh and does anyone run Yetis?

I think you'll find a mix of crawlers here, your set up will fit in nicely with just about everyones. We have a FACEBOOK page as well, the guys are getting into yeti's and posting up there on them,Ask to join and share your experience with them. That goes for you to Rockin and hopper.

Saturday night runs at the creek, we all run 2cell. I got 27t 18/87 good walking pace. I set up all my scalers about the same. Wraith same 27t 20/87 on 2cell. This saturday should be good. Bridges over water. Killer climbs. Get in line. Come out have fun. Sometimes we do a "no touch" run. All extractions need to be done as you would with 1:01, winchs, tow straps. Makes for a long night.

Actually, no yeti s. We do run wraiths, little faster than scalers. for the most part. We walk slow pace, lots of BS going on.
Good fun at the creek and rainbow! We do usually do the walking pace thing. Like Jeeper said, we set up bridges and courses for fun.

As I mentioned above, I have been debating building either a Wraith or a Yeti... I guess I am a bit back and forth because the Wraith seems very similar to the SCX10 (only bigger and open wheel). The Yeti seems like it's quite different than the SCX10 and I like the IRS / solid axle part which is more like 1:1 rigs. How do you guys like your Wraiths? Is it worth owning a Wraith AND an SCX10?
The Saturday runs sound like a blast! Where in the creek do ya'll meet? Where do you park? I might go check it out Saturday morning if anyone else would like to go too... I cant at night Sat.

Yeah. .can't do morning run.. still going to be doing our Saturday night run in the creek. Meeting at 7 pm. In the dirt lot across from AMPM 79/ Temecula pkwy. West of the 15. Anyone interested is welcome to join us.
