Clanker's Hulksta

Scrounged up 4-90mm BBs...one's got to be re-built and I'll probably steal the cups off the 100mm version
Anybody know where you can find more?

Got lucky again...might become her nickname....might have to sleep on that

Dlux also makes no pre-load cups for the mini-t springs that work awesome. Great start to the build thread. The Riddler is such a cool concept and I want to see one in person. I can't wait to see you get it dialed in and give some feedback as to what you think."thumbsup"

Ah forgot about RC bros. ..thanks Joel...don't you have an MOA stashed somewhere? :):mrgreen

Blandon....chompin at the bit to do some 2.2Pro...been running scalers for 4 years, time for a little break

I will share the good with the bad here, my bet is my driving will be the bad
After watching some videos it seems I have a lot to learn...not used to a dig or how to run it...much less how to set up my radio. I have a Futaba 3PK..I know, ancient, but hella reliable. And a Flysky GT3C. I know the Futaba set up is a bit detailed....also heard the Flysky was pretty simple.

Anybody reading this have either set up? Thanks in advance

No Problem. Ya I have 2 XR's as well

Don't worry about your driving. Knowing how to pick your line is half the battle and I know you got that down. Drive time will teach you what your rig can do and when to use that dig!

BTW. Did you check out Harleys Futaba thread to see if he has a 3PK set up?

1 channel to steer 1for esc and 1 for punk dig.

What electrics are you running?

To get the most out of your moa a 4 channel rx\tx are needed.

hey btw our club will be at dotons point close to the water. Look for the red shirts.

If you hack the GT3C you will be able to run dual ESC with mixing, it will allow for a much better rig and eliminate the clod stall with out the need to run a smaller pinion in the rear.
As for your motors nice choice, they should have similar speed to a 35T but with smoother low down. I run 13T's in my berg and love them to bits.

Looking at you shocks again in your new image you appear to have two different types of shocks, the ones shown at the top of the image may require some machining of the cartridge to create a good lip for the spring to sit against.

Wow, lots of good input this morning

I did read Harley's thread....my 3PK is just like the 4P? But seems hard to do.
I was leaning towards the GT3C set up....but didn't know it had to be hacked. I am getting a couple FXRs smashed by Heyok and he mentioned the Flysky and how easy it was...course everything is easy for him....look what he does ...if I need to hack it...more reading. It's really the only unknown for me moving forward, but I'm leaning toward the Flysky.

Nice observance Highlucks....those two shocks have always been a bit off, had them for a couple years and each time I tried to run them, always changed them out for one reason or another...looks like I will again...
Every time I go looking for BB they never tell you what the length is...and I never know which one is which. Looks like I'm in the market for a couple of shocks.

Curcal...we are scaling it up at Beals Point Saturday and I will have another friend in tow...I will do my best to find Dotons point and check you guys out. How late you think you'll be out there?

Thanks for all the input guys...."thumbsup" "thumbsup"

We're starting early. And will be out there til 2 or so. come check us out first. then head over to the next park entrance.

spending more money...

motor guards
3.5"/90mm shocks
pinions
hubs

this should just about end the money bleed...short of skins from Michelle

you could cut up some 5 hour energy bottles for motor guards."thumbsup"

Did you go for the egressor shock bodies?

Yup, thinner than CF and they have the round top to conform around the endbell of the motor, can't beat em!"thumbsup"

CF does look cooler though.

No...got some BWD guards.....couldn't get ahold of Winnerone23
I do have some cf on the mantis...might swap them out
Never heard about the 5 hour bottle...have to check that out too

I don't know anything about egressor shock bodies ...gonna have to search that

You can tell what I'm doing waiting on stuff...lots of reading:mrgreen::mrgreen:

The Eggressor bodies are from RCBros made for the SCX shocks... Used the tracks big bore rebuild kit so no leakages in them plus then you can adjust the springs more and they are lighter than big bores...

Well those were just too damned sexy..."thumbsup"

Egressor shock bodies, caps and spring cups on the way....you guys are dangerous...I see now why I spent so much on the first XR ....they were on sale at least...

Hope I like this rig

It'll look nice if nothing else 8)

Egressor shocks are awesome. You will love them if you take that route.

TRA2660 are the shorter of the two

I always wondered about that ...the traxxas part is described as "long"
Even though they are the 3.5" They don't say the 4" ers are longest/larger nothing. They are on order also...probably put them up for sale when this is finished...really liked the Egressor shocks.

Maybe I can trade them for some 70mm...

TRA2660 are labeled long
the next size up are xtra long
the next size after that is xx long
