I'll have to be p..p..pp.p.pp..patient.. and wait for the kit. I bought the Yeti RTR on a whim, and was kind of sorry after I saw that the kit already came with strengthened rear-arms and more stuff needed to bomb-proof it. "Live & Learn" I guess.

By the by, what's whith the negativity and abrasive reactions to this car?? "Parts-bin"? really?? So what if it partially is? Keeps it affordable (afa "affordable" goes for Axial stuff). Works wonders for Japan's great "T" and usa's big "T" Same goes for the lack of a brushless system. I tend to think that the RTR-crowd is served better with a not-so-powerful and maintenance-light brushed system. Too many times have I seen kids ( & daddies! ) blow high-kv Brushless RTR's to smithereens due to inexperience, and turn-away from RC cars, thinking they "just fall apart".

Hard-core rc car-nuts mostly rip-out rtr electronics anyways.

So, yeah, I like it, and do not feel the need to p*ss&moan like a spoilt toddler if a RTR car doesn't have all the hard-core amenities.. It cóuld, but then it would be a $900.- "RTR".. a tad steep for the people RTR is -in general- aimed at. But, I guess many more people already pointed-out the obvious price/performance-thing.

Only one caveat with this car: Blue. Plastic. Shock. Caps. *shudder* Couldn't they, al least, have offered blue aluminum caps? As a "sorry for the inconvenience of a lacking sway-bar on a go-fast solid axle-rig"??

Multiple shock mounting locations plus the option for mounting dual shocks, front battery mount and opening hood to access it...Axial nailed this release IMO, great looking rig! "thumbsup"

I was talking about the front page of RCCrawler not being updated in a year. The Bigsquid tease of the Yeti XL is the top post. A lot of cool stuff has happened since then.

This truck is really cool. I can't help but think that a solid axle MT is next. I'm holding onto my money for that.

its sooo tempting to pre order with the tower discounts but I am going to exercise some patience and wait for a kit. The more I look at the pics the more I like it. Now I just need to convince my buddies to step up to 2.2 rigs.

Brushless Bomber and my brushless wraith will be a blast!! I hope the kit isnt too far behind the RTR.

Saaweeeet! I was ahead of the curve, for once!

Had this built for a while, before the yeti.. Then the yeti came out, so I built that...
Dumped the yeti and kept the solid axle "EXO"(Sexo)..

IMO, the solid axles have a Way better feel and way better all around performer!
Some Dlux modded housing with the bigger 13mm bearings and 30mph+ on 4s is daily! :)

I can see the kit versions already: HD gears, front universals, aluminum lower links and trailing arm plates, swaybars, and maybe new tires. Throw the 2 speed in the box and sell it for the same price as the RTR.

Personally I am glad it comes with the brushed system. I would never put an unsensored brushless system in something like this, and it seems unlikely Axial would sell it with the sweet sensored brushless system it would need to perform on technical terrain.

Where is the hammer, the porcelain pig is about to die...

I wonder if they added a little gear reduction in the transfer case or if it is just the same gearing as the Yeti.

Problem with that theory is that they are using inexpensive electronics. So you aren't going to have a huge cost savings over just assembly.

I'd say we'll see link plates, front lower links, universals, sway bar and tires. Maybe an outside shot at beadlocks but not holding out.

Yeah, the 2 speed is more of a wish than an actual expectation. I hope it gets the HD gears since the Yeti kit got them, I would take those over any of the Axial beadlock options.

The HD gears were awesome to find in the kit. But they had thrown such an expensive motor and ESC combo (for a RTR at that price point) that I think they had some more room to work with on the kit version. I really don't see how they could get them into the kit at the same price with the rest of the stuff we would pretty much expect to see.

If I was a betting man, I'd say we won't see them. Just guessing.

For the kit - HD diff gears, R35 tires, and universals and I'll be a happy camper. Don't care about links or trailing arms. I got that stuff covered.
