Ottsix Voodoo KLR

Here's a quick vid I made of silver KLR's on the rocks.

Mmmmm, edit: seems my video was posted a few posts previously by crawl-o-matic, things get around ;-)

I've softened the foams since and they work even better ;-)

Does anyone have any feedback on how the KLR's compare to the 1.9 Growlers? I currently have the Growlers and love the height but feel like I could use some more grip.

Just watching that video, I don't know that the growlers could even touch that. :ror:

Thanks for the feedback. My personal experience is I like the ground clearance of the Growlers but when I compare them on a strictly traction basis to my Rock beasts they aren't close. I'd love to have the height and traction at the same time and it sounds like the KLR's might be the ticket. My truck is fairly light so I'm hoping the golds come back in stock soon.

Ran them both.......... more time tuning with the growlers......... growlers csnt touch the klr..... sorry
I said on the surface in that video.

Where's your video of Growlers crawling on that same surface?

It'll be a few weeks before they're back in stock.

I just got a set of silvers from here. They have golds in stock...Search Results of RC Cars, Hopup Parts, Engines, Servo, ESC on rcMart.com

So this may come across as sac-religious due to the pedistal these tires have been put on but it has me wondering. I'm getting ready to do a cut'n'shut for my super. I was going to use the white dot Rovers but I've watched a few vids on these and they have me second guessing....opinions?

Just ordered my first set of blue compound to put on my MattZilla truggy build. Can't wait to get them

I got blues for the rear and silver for the fronts with DW foams. Mounted they sit the same height as my xl tsl.

Interesting thought mixing compounds like that. Let us know how that works.

So that I don't get attacked by trolls I am prefacing my comment with this warning. This is an observation not a complaint!

I received my set of 1.9 KLR in Silver compound. I was surprised how firm they are. They remind me of the compound and stiffness that Vaterra's TSL Super Swampers have. I was expecting something soft like Pit Bull's Komp Kompound. Initial impressions. Not judging them until I drive with them.

I do know they're mean looking tires!"thumbsup"

They are firmer than any other tire I've used but they work great especially after they get broke in some. After a few battery packs the performance gets much better IMO. I also switched to the Voodoo foams, while they worked with CI Lil Novas I felt they were way too stiff and I'm quite pleased with the Voodoo foam setup now.

Just got mine tonight! Can't wait to get them mounted and try them out.
