Bomber Batteries

two small 2mm hex screws when you look down inside on the bottom edges you can see them
it moves the cage front to back a bit but does not make it go down deeper which for me is more the issue the height as the battery sits in from bottom to top is the same sadly

at least I did not see it change from top to bottom :)

the amount it misses by is small for me and I noticed the little cage thing that flips down has some raised edges I might just cut those down and see if that makes it easier which I think it will :)

my other idea was aluminum hood then take out that plastic thing that flips down and replace it with a small piece of CCF on the hood to keep the battery in there better :)

How do you adjust the battery tray?

Like a glove. Haven't had a chance to run them, or solder on my connectors either. Will report back again once I get a few cycles on them.

That's as big as my 5200 and 5000 mAh batteries... Figured it was a 4s. Wonder why they're so large for 3600mAh?

Cause it's cheap ? I dunno, my 5000 3s was wedged in there and I didn't like not having anything on the outside of the pack (no shrink wrap or anything). And my 4k packs fit my yeti perfectly so I didn't want to cut them up.

Do you have a link or brand for the packs your running?

I would have sworn the other is a 5200mAh Traxxas, but I can't find any online. It's tucked away in my lipo box, I'll check it out tonight.

Edit: it's a Rage 3s 30c 5200mAh. Just barely fits in there, the Venom fits just right. I also shaved down the circles to get the pins in easier.

the little thing that folds down to hold the battery in better I just decided to trim off the top circle parts a touch maybe 2mm off the top and is very easy to put the pins in now and no play with it :)

you can see the circle parts well in jediwebdude last pic he posted :)

i bought the duratrax 5000 with my bomber from Tower and it was a tight fit but all i did was put the pins in from the inside instead of the outside and had no issues closing and pinning the hood. it fits nice and snug but i think i am going to order some 4s batteries and see how those work. in hindsight i would have waited and bought batteries after my bomber arrived. well, you live and learn. anyone need a 3s 5000mah lipo?

I'm running the same battery as Maslin and I would recommend it and Venom batteries in general. The one problem I did have with one of their batteries was made good when they sent me an upgraded replacement with no questions asked. I like when a company stands behind their products like that.

This is the largest size that Bomber Fabrication recommends.
Battery for Axial Bomber – Bomber Fabrication

I talked to them, and they say this is the biggest dimensions they recommend, and do not recommend shoving anything thicker or taller into the battery tray. I haven't purchased one yet, but probally will soon..or fine one the same dimensions.

I am using this same battery. While it is only 3600MAh I ran one of mine for 100 minutes weekend before last when I was out with our group. And much of that was n pretty hard running, several others were swapping in fresh batteries and mine was still going strong. When I charged it I put in 2800MAh and it was only down to 11.54v. I am happy with them!

I'm running this one. Drops in nice, and a little bit of a pain to get my fingers in to get it out, so....perfect! Not to tall, so the hood shuts nice.

Also, I was just going off the information I was given by Bomber Fabrications.

Mike did you adjust the battery tray any?

My battery must be 43 mm tall, 30 mm wide. I'll double check when I get home.

The measurements as they were listed on RPP didn't designate L or W.
