Bomber Batteries

I figured out that battery fitment problem - the battery would have fit if it weren't so wide. That's why it's getting hung up.

Ended up getting a Venom 4000 maH 3S and it fits with plenty of room to spare. "thumbsup"

I have a bomber on the way also and noticed this post, does hard case really matter since the battery is tucked up inside? I run a hard case in the front of my wraith. Or is it just persona preference.

I've maximized the size of the battery compartment as already noted and I'm using these Venom 3300mAh 35c 3s batteries...Robot Check

I'm getting at least 30min of run time including at least 15 min of pedal to the medal donuts (that was fun), 5-10 min crawling and 5-10 min of speed blasts.

I've also found that if you open up the inside and position the cable to the ESC to the driver side and feed the battery's cable down that side behind the battery compartment you can more easily insert and remove the battery since you're not fighting the position of the cable on the battery vs the position of the cable from the ESC.

Turnigy NanoTec 3300mah 3s 65-130C fits just perfect.. I also run some Helios RC batteries (3S), one is 3000mah 40C and the other is a 2200mah 60C, they fit great! I actually prefer running the smaller batteries due to their weight, I get plenty of run time out of them too..

I would have sworn the other is a 5200mAh Traxxas, but I can't find any online. It's tucked away in my lipo box, I'll check it out tonight.

Edit: it's a Rage 3s 30c 5200mAh. Just barely fits in there, the Venom fits just right. I also shaved down the circles to get the pins in easier.

Maslin, Screamer - what's your run time on the Venom 5000 3s that you are using?

Run time seems like forever on my Onyx 3s 5000 soft pack. My wife ran the Bomber around the yard for 30-45 minutes last Sunday, I ran it another 30 minutes today without recharging. I checked the voltage after and they were still at 3.78v. I am running brushless.

I bought a 3000mah 3s 65c Turnigy Graphene battery and it fits good. These graphene batteries are a bit bigger than their lipo counterparts.

Ok, I'll share: I'm running an Onyx 4000mah 11.1 V softcase LiPo. Fits absolutely perfect; and I'm not sure what I'm doing right, but I'm getting about 1.5 hours of run time on mine with stock motor and gearing configuration. Unbelievable to me. I could not be happier!

I'm running the same Onyx 11.1v 4000mah 3s LiPo with stock motor and gearing. the longest I ran was 1hr 45mins and the car was still going strong. The sun was setting and I called it a night. The whole time was slow crawling; but, I covered some ground at Pioneer Park in St. George Utah that night.

Run time is much longer than expected and this battery fits like a glove.

Running same packs I've had all along which are traxxas 5800 mah 2 cell and smc 5100 2c.

They're both a perfect fit, it's just a tad cumbersome to plug everything together and get the wires pushed back inside the cab so that the hood comes down and closes properly. Coming from an scx10 though so it will just take some getting used to.

I have a Lectron Pro 5200 Mah 3s battery that fits perfect. I bought this battery based on the dimensions of the bomber battery tray. It seems the depth of the battery compartment (or width of the battery itself) is the most limiting . I would not go bigger than 43mm on the width of the battery or it will be difficult to close the hood (my Lectron battery is 42mm).

Note, I have no idea on the quality of this battery and it came with a "deans type" connector that I had to replace with a legit deans connector since the "deans type" would not mate with the Axial star connector. However, it was the biggest 3S battery I could find that would fit (and didn't cost a fortune)

Lectron pro are legit batterys, thats what I run. My lhs gets them with traxxas plugs so I get real deans installed every time so I wouldn't know about the fake deans but good to know."thumbsup"

Wow I just read through this whole thread again looking for 4s options and think there was only 1 mention of running 4s in the bomber! Come on hardcores I know there's a few of you running 4s in them. I was looking at the eflight 3200 4s on rpp. I guess I just really wanna try 4s. Any suggestions of one's that fit our trucks?
