2016 Scale Rules

So if comp style knuckle weights are illegal. Then the Blue Monkey ones are good to go. They are made for the Vanquish Wraith knuckles. So by terminology as with the comp designed Dlux knuckles that are legal then these are too?

Blue monkey = illegal

Dlux knuckles = legal

Didn't we have this same knuckle sandwich last year?

Knuckles are OK.
Knuckle weights are a no-no. Unless you make them look like brake discs or drums.

Atleast last year it was deemed legal to ad stick-on weights to your axle.

Thats what I remember. If reasonable efforts are taken to disguise the brass, and make them appear to be scale brake drums or disks, then they would pass.

Hi, are you opening a 2016 question thread or can we continue here?

Can you tell me please if a smoke/sound unit can be considered a functional item? if so, how many scale points for having it on the truck?

I got asked this question yesterday and I couldn't answer it,

Is a rubber band allowed to be used as limiting strap?

Can't think of a reason why not. I've seen people use zip ties and wires before so I wouldn't think this is any different. "thumbsup"

Can anyone tell me of this would be considered drop bed?

Is that a honcho with bed sides ? A interesting question if it is. Does the bed come close or sit on the frame rails with no ginormous gap ?

Drop bed and dual tool boxs if you dolled them up a bit would be my answer from the view provided.

Yes look up dinky rc he makes the bed sides for the honcho and I'm just trying to get ready and would hate to show up and it not count for drop bed

The easiest way to decided if it is a drop bed or not is to ask yourself does it match another bed that you know receives points.....
Does it look like a Stock bed? Does it have a lowered floor (close to the frame)? Does it have wheel wells?

SO my answer would be no.

Hmm, wish I had a pic of my 1:1 72 K5. It had full length storage/tool/speaker boxs in the bed. Covered the mentioned wheel wells you speak of. Also allowed me to have a 6 way modular seat/bed/storage storage system between the boxs.

Scale as scale can get lol

As the rule is written, it would be a drop bed. Like Hotwheels said, the sides could be tool boxes or speaker boxes. I would rather see something like this though......

But like stated above, we are looking into clarifying the "drop bed".
