Best brushless combo

This is the exact setup I have in my Wraith and it is awesome. At crawling speed I can almost turn the wheels a lug at a time.

is there a need for hill hold? i haven't done a lot of crawling for say. but i like that feature on my stock SC10

Just cause u set it don't mean it will hold. I just bought this combo last month for my wraith build and found out it can't hold. Sure it's awesome power and super smooth but not being able to hold is a huge issue in crawling.. make sure to look into and know what you want..

You get a stubby and run stock gearing? How much it weigh and how tall tires? Being able to hold (which is not the drag brake function) is an extremely minor issue I would say, as you would be the first customer to have this problem and not figure out a solution. It's either rig heft and gearing or your expectations require more motor Flux gap area. The issue can be easily solved if you would provide enough info or simply contact us.

I have some prototype 4 poles that would hold your rig, but startup suffers. Can't have both , it's a loss of one to gain the other. I chose to refine startup, as a crawler motor without controlled starts is not a crawler motor! The trailmaster sport bl and revolver motors also have higher static hold values for folks that are more worried about staying put instead of driving. Plenty of options for folks that give us enough information to help.

I currently run a 3500kv 540 puller on stock gearing with a ble controller. Holds my rig on inclines beyond tire grip with stock gearing, and goes about 20mph on 11.1v. Basically stock weight rig with just drive train upgrades.

Yep, 30% is plenty hold for me on all my rigs. In fact, I tried 40% once and it was too much.

I'm not knocking any systems and in truth I'm not the only one. In my research I was told the stubby had more then enough power for a wraith and after finding it wont hold we discovered the full length would have been better suited. Simply my mistake on not researching enough and so I stated to look into and know what you want.. I'm happy with my choice still as I feel it will feel my needs and will purchase another holmes system in future.

Indeed the stubby does have plenty of power for the wraith. Please give us more info on your gearing, rig weight, and tire height so we can help other people in similar situations. Otherwise, I hear your concerns but still know nothing more than your wraith needs more hold.

I have been runing an old Brushlesshobbies 120a pro....Checking the settings on the usb link i mesed up and updated to a diferent software. lost fwd/direct rev, has a delay of a sec or two. found software to have smooth transistion and it seems to work fine but now the motor has a constant beep from 0-35% throttle.

Anyways if I cant figure this out I want to try the BLE but its been hard to find a good thread on it. Is it smooth through fwd/rev...and is it quiet?

I have searched high and low for answers but what is causing the motor to beep at slow speed? I can change software and it wont do it, but I loose fwd/direct rev?

Here's the link to my thread on it.. My rig weight is unknown but I wouldn't think it's on the heavy side, tires are U4 I believe 5.5 tall and gearing I played with and now am at a 11T pinion. I've done what you suggested and yes it's better but it's not what I feel is a strong hold for crawling..
