2.2 Wheel Suggestion for SSD

Just wanted to make sure. When I go to order these from RPP in the description it states the Rock Racer rims are not compatible with Proline tires

Are you using stock foams? If so, that's your problem.

I tried the stock foams, the little foams that came with my yeti, and no foam. I'm still spitting out the bead on the back side. Just this tire wont seat. I may try scuffing while I wait for an answer on what size CI DD's to use.

In this thread, page 2, posts number 37 and 40, page 3, post number 41. Pro-Line BF Goodrich KR2, Super Swamper TSL and Badlands. They're a little harder to install than some tires but they will mount up. bilinvic has also mounted the KR2's and Flat Irons on a set of Rock Racer.

Thanks for that. I didn't doubt them when I decided to buy them based on this thread. Sorry if I don't understand what the point of your post was. I have 3 of 4 mounted, and it was difficult to do that. Some have stated to use different foams, but haven't recommended a size. I'm waiting on a size recommendation from CI, so I can test that theory out. Your post seems to indicate I'm not trying to follow advise, but I am, and so far it's not working, and I'm $200 into a set of wheels and tires I can't use. Please tell me how telling me to follow advise I followed two posts up is helpful?

Is your name Smonkman? I was answering his post, page 4, post #61?

As for foams, I'm using the stock memory foam in the TSL's and Pro-Line over-sided 2-stage foams in the KR2's. Can't really help with any CI foam recommendations. I've also found it helps to loosen the beadlock ring screws 1/2 - 2/3 their length before mounting the tires. Then slowly/gradually tightening them up after the rear ring is installed and completely tightened.

Sorry about that, I had responded with almost the exact text somewhere else. I was blind responding and answering a ticket at work. Thanks for the info. I tried that method today at lunch. I saw it in another post here earlier. The beads wont push in. I also tried cutting a bevel in the stock foams from another post. Neither is working with this one tire. I'll try scuffing when I get home. If I can't get it to stay in with no foam, I don't think any foam is going to help. I could be wrong.

It might be a defective tire. I had one come when I bought 3 pairs of BFGoodrich KO2. The bead was much larger, almost streched out and I couldn't mount it no matter what I tried. Luckily I only needed 5.

I'm starting to think you might be right. The other three were tricky, but not hard to mount. This one is about to go in the fire. Either that, or I'll have to buy new wheels for those tires. They work fine on my stock yeti wheels, but two of those already have one stripped screw.

Hey John, if that's Weston, FL, hit me up if you ever go to Markham park. I'm submitting my volunteer paperwork to revive the U4 course.

Only a few months out of the year do I wish it was FL. I'm up in MA.

I'm not sure what your setup is but 6.0 Double Duece foam, comp inner and medium outer might be a safe bet. If you want them a little smaller you can pop off the outer ring.
