The best servo.

And I use this one in my SCX10....it's a little slow speed wise but 500 Oz of torque at 6.0v isn't half bad..

Look at this on eBay Savox SA 1230SG Monster Torque Coreless Steel Gear Digital Servo SA1230SG | eBay

I use the Savox SA1230SG in both my SCX-10 Honcho 1/10 scale
as well my 1/10 scale Wraith converted to 1/6 scale.

I like that it only requires 6v

The 1/6 scale Wraith has PL Interco TSL XL (5.80")
and turns them fairly well IMO.
Somewhat overkill on my SCX-10 with 4.6" tires.
But I like having more... then less.

Might be slower then some servo's costing much more...
But I feel it's speed is just fine for a crawler and it purchase investment.

Water proofing the S 1230 will be the buyer's responsibility tho'.
^ easy to do so no big deal.

IMO the best is the Holmes Hobbies HV500. It is a beast. I have one my Deadbolt and love it. 500oz and .11 transit time @ 8.4volts. It is fast and powerful and Holmes stands behind them.

I broke many servos before I went with the savox 1231. Same as the 1230 mentioned earlier but a little less torque and more speed. Hasn't broken yet despite rolling several times at 35mph. The aluminum servo horn I have on it is what is beginning to fail.. Stripping the teeth so I'll be looking for a clamp style horn soon

It's easy!!!
HITEC 7950th(find one used on here for $100)
Holmes Hobbies 500

Hitec 7950 is a beast & will be last servo ya buy.

Love this servo for the price. Had it in my honcho for almost three years before I had to replace a stripped gear.

But ask 10 drivers and you'll get 10 different answers. :lmao:

So I busted the case on my savox

do they make a stronger case from aluminum or am I stuck ordering a replacement plastic case?

So I busted the case on my savox... do they make a stronger case from aluminum or am I stuck ordering a replacement plastic case?

I'd recommend using these to keep that from happening next time:

Vanquish Products AR60 Axle Servo Mount Black Anodized

With these to sandwich the servo case in between:

Vanquish Products Servo Clamp Black

The machined aluminum combination will lock your servo in place and stiffen your steering even more - AND protect the area the screws go through on your case... not sure Savox makes an exact replacement in anything but plastic, sorry.

However, the other servo posted above :

420oz-in v4

Is a fantastic buy, and all-aluminum. You owe it to yourself and your rig to read the details at that link - be sure to read the revision history and you will see how seriously they take their servos.

By the time you replaced the case and bought stronger mounts, you'd be spending a fair amount already - $80 is unbelievable for the ProModeler.
