2017 Scale Rules

No change, the faded red bars are not required. The darker red bars at the top of the cage are in front of and behind... it also has the required down bars.

hoopty, your interpretation of the rule is incorrect.

sorry if i misinterpreted. i could have swore at some point the dingo style cages werent legal unless you added a brace to the dash area and behind the seats. maybe my somewhat scale spirit was getting in the way of the proper interpretation. while technically you can say the roof hoops are braces i read it more as a cage needs to be boxed up.

if i go by whats been clarified, i can argue something like this would be legal. not that i would even consider making something like this, but what makes this not legal?

not tryin to be a sh-stirrer by the way. i know what i drew up isnt a cage but im actually a bit confused what the definition of cage is now.

is this a cage according to the rules? it has cross bars and down bars. there is absolutely no mention the hoops needing to be attached to each other unless 'cross bars' mean to the bars joining the hoops together, but that makes no sense since it states they need to be in front and behind each row.

am i making sense?

The rule states.... "the cage must have down bars and cross bars in front and behind each row"

Example one would not qualify since it only has a single down bar, rule states plural.

Example two fits the letter of the rule technically, but we all now that is not much of a cage.

I have wondered how long it would be before somebdy built a cage like example two. Lol

but both my illustrations have a single crossbar front and rear, so if thats the case and the plurality of the words indicates 2, why only singular crossbar?

I want to make it clear I am not saying example two is acceptable to the committee, just it meets the criteria by definition"thumbsup"

im totally going to go on fb and say 'somebody' said something about somebody saying something about the rules in general. 8)

There are 2 cross bars, one in front and one behind.

i get it but i dont. ;) both are mentioned as plural in the rule. if down bars means 2 (per row), wouldnt cross bars also mean 2? otherwise not that you would, but you could do this, if you had the nerve to fight with tech over your lame attempt at a cage.

if im being a dumbass i'll drop it. its not at all a huge enough issue to come off like a pest to anybody. its just fun to b.s. a little.

I have read through the thread and apologize if I over looked where this has been answered. I am looking to start a class one build and plan to use a CC-01 as the base. The question comes from this section.

"• Vehicle must run a full length rail chassis (The rail chassis must be as long as the vehicles wheelbase)(Tamiya CC-01 chassis are allowed).
• *For 2018, you will be required to run a metal rail chassis AND parallel skid plate in class 1."

Does this mean would be legal this year but starting in 2018 the CC01 chassis will no longer be allowed? Or is this in reference to just rail chassis must be metal and the CC-01 will still be valid?

To the members of the Committee SORRCA, i sum up in this post my questions
that have not yet received an answer, excuse me, but are required by the guys in Italy,
this is the time to prepare the vehicles ahead of the championship season.

1) in Class 1, you can replace the fenders as in this case?

2) In Class 1 is legal cut the body to change the wheelbase , lengthen or shorten ?

3) In Class 1 is legal cut the rear of drop bed?

4) These 3d interiors are made correctly? They have a right to the scaler points?

You will be fine next year, yes rail chassis will be required to be metal in C1. "thumbsup"

Yes to all of your examples. "thumbsup"

1- Yes that is legal as long as there isn't much trimming to the size of the wheel well opening.

2-Yes as long as the body still meets all size requirements.

3- Yes, that is a bed "bob"

4-Interior looks good to me. It appears the figures would be around 6" tall if they were standing.

A question..

the rule say:
The tread of the tires cannot extend outside of the wheel wells more then 1/2 of the tread width, flairs can be added to reach min.spec

how much is it grated enlarge the flairs?

parafango2_zpsxzzfnzkt.jpg

It is all legal?

Some post before say that the left fender is legal, so the tire could be mount like this (left picture).

If there isn't a limit the right picture is legal too.

can the wheel wells be only the flairs ?
How much can be the red segment "1"?
How much can be the red segment "2"?

if the "2" segment exist, the truck likes a c3 with big flairs?

(I apologize for poor photomontage )</pre>

Cco1 will remain legal. The new rule for 2018 is for rail chassis
