That came out really nice! "thumbsup" I'm planning on adding hinges for the doors and hood on mine, as well as the interior, but it'll sit now until after vacation.

I was contemplating that as well, but decided to build it as is first. I think it should be well doable on the hood, but am skeptical about the doors. The little screws around that area really seem to hold everything together.

Anyways, today I mutilated a hinge to connect the body to the chassis.

Also converted the front over to spring under axle, and quickly fabbed up some shock hoops to test different setups, see where I want to end up.

I really had to mount the servo way higher to stop the axle from hitting the servo arm due to my low ride height.

Really quite happy about the stance of the truck now. Just noticed a tiny bit of rubbing though on the front arches, so might have to go with slightly smaller tires. Thinking about Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's.

I like the body hinge idea...made it like a pro funny car.

Stance looks perfect for stock scale, I agree the tires are a bit large for that look though. They still don't look monster truckish tho

Course if you went to smaller tires I think your body may look too high then...

They wouldn't be much smaller, so I doubt that would be an issue.

Anyways, ran into too many complications to run the spring under axle in the front, but with the higher shock hoops I managed to get it low enough with the springs in the stock location.

I've also changed my mind about the hinge in the back. Instead I've cut up some old hardware so I can just clip on the bodymount in the front (it pivots around this now), and then attach the back with some Velcro.

Gave all the electronics a place for now (will likely be moved around again for the interior).

Also moved the shifting servo all the way to the back to make room for the interior, and made a longer link from some threaded rod.

Last thing for now is that I cut up the stock rear bumper to make it fit around the back of the LC70 bed. It had to be lowered quite a bit.

My first hardbody - TF2 LWB with LC70

Spent last night soldering up my LED's. Went with warm white for the main headlights, and bright white for the fog lights. Also added all the indicator lights and hooked them up to a switch.

Took the truck out for its first run this afternoon, and I must say it did great. Not as capable as my SCX 10 II, but a lot better than expected.
Might have to go for a low profile skid in the future though, as expected.

I didn't like how far back the front windshield was sitting on this body (has been fixed in the v2 as I understand it), so I decided to fix it. I cut up the lexan panel on the inside, giving me some more room to move it around and get it sitting well. After I was happy with it I also added the windshield wipers.

Thanks for the compliment. Just a slight rubbing issue with the front tires to sort out.

But this weekend, I started on my interior.

Started out with CAD (cardboard aided design)

Transferred to 1mm styrene, and cut to size.

Heated, bent and glued down (going to do cleanup when it's fully cured.

Placed in the body, mounted with 2 small screws.

This'll give me the platform to base the rest on.

Also..... apparently if you have a single cab, a low bed, and want a full interior..... you have VERY little room for electronics!

Managed to fit it in though, and it's a fun coincidence that the ESC is now sitting behind the grille, sort of like a radiator :)

Question; I really want to shorten the wheelbase in the rear by about a cm. Seems to me the easiest way to do this is to drill some extra holes in the leaf springs. Am I right, or is there a better way to do this?

Rc4wd(at least I think it's them) has a u bolt kit that will let you slide the axle on the springs.

thanks both for the replies.

Typical though isn't it... while I appreciate that rc4wd releases specific parts for these kits, 25 dollars for 16 grams of aluminium does seem kind of steep :)

Maybe I can fabricobble something up myself :)

Edit; fabricobbling complete. Made some brackets out of 2mm styrene. Still have to clean them up and paint them, but it had the desired effect.

Also had to shorten the rear driveshaft by about 7 mm.
