I believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins and the the only way to our Lord is accepting Jesus in your heart.i have traveled around the whole world.worjed in Hong Kong,Australia, New zealand,India,Rome,Saudi Arabia and more.and have seen many crazy things.everyone is searching for somethi g to fill a void in there life.Well that void that u need is God.u can choose him to be in your life or not.but one day every head will bow and every knee will knell.dont kid yourself u will either go to heaven or hell...thats it.and life is so much better when u have God.

There isn’t much believable about some giant explosion that created the earth,
No it was the Moon that was created by the giant explosion, and the Earth that was laid by a giant goose. I know what you are thinking - the goose has always existed, of course. Common sense.
and that all of the living beings on the planet have evolved from a common ancestor,
You then believe that our common ancestors are Noah and his family, and that bunch of animals on his ark? All the billions of animals, insects, plants and people and all of the diversity we see today in only a few thousand years, in contrary to all modern science?

I guess as long as your computer, your cable tv, and your rc cars work, science can take a hike. :lmao:
so nothing will sway me as far as I can see
If religion gives you comfort, cling to it as tightly as you see fit.

Do you ever wonder if your beliefs are an accurate description of reality?

My point with that statement was that unless you have an open mind, and are willing to listen to other's point of views, you will keep believing what you want. No matter what "evidence" and facts are presented.
Another bizarre statement, that I have seen many times. The religionist claims that others [that disagree with them] will continue to disagree with them no matter what evidence and facts are presented... but never present this "evidence and facts" that they allude to, implying that the fault lies with those that disagree them them for not having an 'open mind'.
Like I said, my beliefs are based on my experiences, my studying myself aND the world around me.
My experience tells me that the Earth is flat, and hangs in space while the cosmos rotates around it. Modern philosophy of mind informs us that introspection is a unreliable means of studying ourselves. The world around me shows no evidence of gods or 'intelligent design'.
And some people WILL believe whatever the crap they want to believe.
Do you believe what you want to believe?

I'd like to believe that I have a million dollars in cash in the bank. That would certainly make me more comfortable about my finances in the future.

...

You're assuming that results are expected...

Flat earth? Other planets revolve around it? Sure.

Maybe an insect evolved from a common insect, and so on but there is no way that people, horses, birds, insects, etc have come from one common ancestor.
