Interesting. VP evading taxes?

Re: Interesting

Oh shit!! I was about to go to bed, but I guess I'll stay up for another hour or so to see if this blows up!

I have no idea what is actually going on at VP but having worked at CPA firms dealing with small business, a shockingly large percentage of owners don't really know how their businesses actually work on the financial side.

I'm a State regulator and I would echo your statement regarding owners being clueless.

oh man there'll never be enough popcorn...

I haven't followed anything, is this guys crazy or is there really bad stuff happening at Vanquish ?

Will vanquish vanish ?

For the better part of my lifetime ( +50 years ) the number one past time of Danes have been being creative / cheat on taxes.
But off course the tax level here are also at a nightmare inducing level for many countries.
And while we do often win happiest country in the world, you will find no problem finding Danes that will whine about taxes and a lot of other things too.
To a level i think that happy country thing are rigged by nations with low taxes in a effort to coax their own citizens to pay high taxes too so they can be as happy as the Danes.

Between this thread and and the Hobbico thread it sounds like you guys have a serious hard-on for VP, or have a raging case of crawler penis envy. Is there a particular reason behind it? Not trying to bash you guys, just want to know where the animosity is coming from, is VP that evil of a company, or are you guys just being catty?

Seems like there are two sides to this whole thing, and you guys are automatically picking the side you want without really knowing anything about what is actually going on. Maybe the other two did cut Tom out because of creative differences in the company, maybe it was pure greed. Or, maybe Tom developed some unsavory habits and had to be removed from the company, who knows? And, this is the first I have heard of VP having suppliers in China, where did this come from? I have been to their shop in Sacramento, looked legit. But, their shop is in a horrible part of town, so I can see why they'd want to move to China, or Elk Grove, or Rio Vista... Maybe this is why Tom left, too many encounters with window washers...?

As far as the taxes go, I know few business owners that have a good pulse on that. Most small business owners I know rely on their accountants to get that straight, or they rely on that one partner that has a head for those kinds of numbers. Perhaps in this case it was Tom who did their accounting, short-changed the government and got caught by the other two...? Or, Tom discovered that the one of the other two were cooking the books and took a hasty retreat?

I own some VP parts, but most were bought used. The new parts I have bought I have had really good support for, but for the most part have gone with less expensive options for upgrades so I can spread my RC upgrade budget around. I have always seen VP as the Gucci option, and it just never made that much sense to me to pay that much for a part (or parts). I have never hated on the guys that run goddy amounts of VP gear, $2000 worth of fancy-shmancy parts have never compensated for the ability to drive or tune your rig.

JMHO...

My thoughts exactly!

Nothing against VP as such. Have some VP parts on my Wraith axles. Granted they were bought in 2013.

But nothing finer than teasing the fanboys.

If VP did farm wheels out, that would explain the chicom copy’s out there.
I will watch this one unfold. Not a fanboy, but it sure is top shelf.

Chartered accountant's have a really bad habit of not opening their mouth to enlighten the customer. They expect the customer should know everything......but hey, what the hell do CA's do other than crunching numbers in an air conditioned office?

CA's can never understand what all a business owner has to manage.

When the 'meth head' wheels were copied and manufactured in china and they were selling like hot cakes on rcc and ebay, It crossed my mind if someone from US was involved in planning and executing everything.I mean.....'money is evil'

This morning I heard all VP’s cad files were available publicly.. I’m guessing asiatees and the other usual copycat artists are going to have some interesting parts becoming available soon..
I’m not sure exactly what went down and to what extent, but I can’t see the future being too bright for them
