Whats the Best 100$ Servo

The Savox 2290 is my favorite servo yet. I wish I had picked up at least one more from Dlux. His price was killer. $160 is understandably hard to justify for most people, myself included. I have two of them but they are on comp rigs. My trail rigs don't get that fancy stuff.

Bingo. Fanboi parts rarely pan out to be nearly as good as fanbois preach ad nauseam because they will never tell the truth about their favorite product.

Maybe I just live under a rock but I didn't even know Reef's RC existed until a post on facebook and just like that, their servos were the "in" thing.

I have yet to try a Pro-Modeler, but will at some point. I know a few people who swear by them and they aren't fanboys...I trust their opinion.

The 2290 is the bad ass on the block these days for sure. Both my comp rigs run them. There is no other that will go in unless zeus himself comes out with one wielding a lightning rod for power.

Yea reefs came from nowhere (chicom import) and boom instant fanbois.

I had a V4 promodler and it was a solid servo. I put it through its paces for over a year but left it in side piece when I sold it. I will pick up a 470 one of these days for a basher since I trust the brand.

I'm not sure if I'm being called a fanboi or not, but just wanted to clarify, I've not spoken highly of or 'touted' the reef servos, I havent owned one, just made mention that RPP recently picked them up and may be worth a look cause they offered a servo with metal casing in the same power range for the same price. I don't think making mention of a potential product that meets criteria in a thread asking about options qualifies one as a 'fanboi'

Reefs seem to be a flavor of the month kinda thing. They have their pushers all over Facebook. Not sure if those guys are paid or sponsored or none of the above, but it's pretty bad. We'll see where they stand 3 months from now.

3 brothers are at least as bad. G13! G13! Meh, both them and reefs have taken to this mythical dynamic torque number that bumps their spec up over 600 oz. :lmao:

Yea I’ve read a few complaints on here but they all magically change/disappear.

I dont really want to spend 160, or even 150 on the black edition when I dont compete and dont even really know if I need that much torque anyway. Right now I have a powerHD 277oz/in and I know thats not enough. Pro modeler is back ordered, the 1238 is 80 less torque than the HH500v2. Ive heard some people have issues with the holmes servos, but Im probably going to go with it. At least they have good prompt customer service.

I actually read a FB post today asking "which of the 2 best servos should I get? Reefs or 3Bros?"

It was as big of a circle jerk as expected. I have never wanted to buy a servo less.

I usually dont go with new companies because they obviously havent survived the crucible of multiple iterations of manufacturing and consistent production.

Too bad I either didn't see it or I'm not in that group. I'd have fun with that one.

They've been torture tested for almost a week by their sponsored drivers so they must be the bestest ever.

All I can say is that whatever is on Google and You Tube is always 100% true. I don't do FakeBook or that bird thing but they must also be true. The Coral Reef conversation post above would undoubtedly make my wallet open up. So much info and real world experience.

Or I could read a few threads and responses from say WT, JTR, Duke and many others who actually tell the real story, give a few options and then open my wallet.

Interesting fact, RPP is now carrying Reefs servos.
That does tell me that the supply line and financial sides must be credible. RPP is a trusted vendor to me.
I’m still sticking with my ProModelers.

So I used an ebay one day coupon for 15% off and bought the holmes hobbies 500v2 servo for 89$ shipped. Sold by RPP on ebay lol!

I somewhat agree, but AMain, for example, sells horrible 3D printed products. Money talks like always.

The only person that I know running a Reefs said it didnt have enough power, but he is running it on a stock TRX-4 ESC so that could be the problem.

They may be a good servo, but I personally do not push an unknown/unproven product...They're new to the market so long term durability is unknown. I just think its funny how they get lumped into the "best servo" talk when they have no track record and they are not coming from a company with a history of making high end servos or electronics.

Yeah some one the stuff is comical. I would not trust anyone who sells a servo that can not get the unit of measurement correct. Its oz-inch, not oz, im even good with kg-cm

xclusive rc?

This post is on Facebook now. It's comical and the comments are worse.

Yes, Exclusive.

Checkout their door handles for the Dodge Power Wagon. This isn't my photo. This is the listing photo on AMain that advertises what these piece of garbage look like. Who would buy these?!
