SCX10-II Raw Builder's Kit

Its good they finally released something like this. We can finally get just the useful stuff and not a ton of crap we wont use. Definitely beats buying a Deadbolt or Honcho and tossing half of it in the spare parts bin.

It's a decent deal for those of us new to the platform, those that have already jumped in not so much. Axles already go for close to 130. The rest of the stuff puts it over the 199.99 if bought separately. I'm in, pre-ordered @rpp.

I wish to see a high quality transmission and gearbox plus all hardware only kit... Axial really needs to work on their plastic parts.

Anyone considering the HPI builder kit over this one? It’s $50 more. Does it have better components?

I am.

I'll be getting the hpi kit over this one.

I've already got an rtr Venture and I love it so it's an choice for me.

I was all set on planning to get this as my first Axial, but then noticed the massive discounts on Axial trucks at RPP today. So... I picked up the Cherokee kit for $290 instead. Hope I like it.

I also get one more kit though I only need to have some hardware from it. I always can reuse the spare parts to fix my boy's RTR and dump the rest to marketplace.

Is there a market for the axles and shocks off this?

To be honest, this is almost exactly what I want minus the axles (housings at least) and shocks. I have a hard body and cage that have been sitting on the back burner for a bit. This raw kit might be the ticket to resurrect the project.

Question would be... ditch the housings for SSD housings, or sell the axles complete and replace with complete SSD axles?

Hello from Mexico, (Guadalajara)
I just ordered this kit, this is going to be my first crawler so I decided to go with this basic kit because I know that I will get some upgrades later. and I want to build something different from RTR. I know that SCX10 II has a lot of support from different manufacturers so I have a lot to read on this forum.

Guadalajara - one of this guy's favorite places on the planet! Off subject, but who cares... friendly folks, warm, welcoming, GREAT FOOD. And had patience w/ this guys horrible Spanish.

Welcome!!!!

I'm probably going to pass on this kit now, as I was able to pick up a brand new cherokee kit for only a little bit more off someone in classifieds. The only thing I would want from the raw kit now are the different link lengths.

The HPI builder's kit on the other hand... I will pick up since I don't have a Venture chassis yet.

I just order the new SCX10II raw kit, it was like an impulse purchase, I was thinking on a crawler rc the past weeks so when I notice this new kit available at amain I thought it was a good opportunity to build an rc crawler based on the popular scx10II platform. It was an unplanned decision but I really want to build one of those little trucks.

since I live in Mexico shipping is going to take at least a month (as many of my other RC parts), meanwhile Iam trying to figure out which electronics to install and which upgrades to install. After downloading of the manual I notice that this kit screams for Shocks and axles upgrades, I don’t mind about that since I consider that since the beginning, but I’m a little disappointed to find that this kit has the previous version of the transmission, and I didn´t notice that when I place my order,

I’m thinking about this electronics
- Triple5 - 555ozHD Servo
- Futaba R204GF-E S-FHSS High Voltage 4-Channel 2.4GHz Micro Receiver
- Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro BL 540 Waterproof Sensored Crawler Motor (3500kV)
- Holmes Hobbies TrailMaster BLE Pro ESC (Waterproof)

Do I need a BEC for the servo??
Now I have to find information about the proper gearing and the correct battery to power that, the info on this forum is really helpful) .

I also notice some awesome aluminum braces for the chassis which brands you recommend (samix, ssd, hot racing, Boom Racing, vanquish, etc)

I will create an specific thread of with this building when I have all organized

Thanks for your support
dont shoot me im newbie
