i want to dove tail my lexan body. how would a guy fasten it back together w/o it looking like $&!$
thanks

Here is a pic of my first dovetail. I did it on an old beater body. The cuts were made just to the inside of the roll bar, and bed rails. It was shoe gooed on the inside. I added pieces of scrap lexan on the inside to help strengthen it in a couple of spots. Since then the body has had enough hard use to crack in other places, but the shoe goo hasn't failed yet.

I tried an HPI 73 Bronco, and Shoe-Goo seems to be the adhesion material of choice. It dries pretty hard, yet remains somewhat flexible.

I had trouble with the main part of the body by the door fronts buckling some when I brought the fenders together far enough to gain the clearance I needed. Also narrowing the grill and tailgate and making them look decent proved to be a challenge as well. It ended up with so much Shoe-Goo inside it that it weighed like 5 pounds, and it was sort of funky looking so I scrapped it.

I have found shoe goo, at places like walmart, target, most sports stores that have running shoes will have it. Also the local hardware stores carry it.

I think Shoe Goo is the original formula for the "Amazing Goop" prouduct line. It includes Plumbing, Craft, Automotive, Marine, and probably a couple of others. I have noticed, in my area, many of the department stores that sell shoes Do Not sell Shoe Goo. (Why would you buy $6.00 Shoe Goo when they will sell you $8.00 shoes?) They do however sell Amazing Goop products. If I remember correctly what I used was Amazing Goop Craft. I wouldn't be suprised if it is all the same.
