Sneak Peek Losi 2.2 Rock Claws

When I read the article on the RCC front page I was under the impression that it was a 5.5" tall tire. :-(

I'm glad to see Losi getting involved in crawling Rich, I have always liked Losi products but parts are more difficult to come by.
I'm excited to try out these tires, they sound great. "thumbsup" My friend Ace runs the T-Bone Reds on his super crawler and I think they are the best crawling tire made. If these are anywhere near as good you'll have a winner. Plus I've been dying to run something other than a Proline tire for years.

Still hoping for a 5.5" tall 2.2 version in the red.;-)

Griz

Hello Rich,

It's really exciting to see Losi joining the Crawler market.

I agree w/ Griz on the 5.5 tall 2.2 tires. The first company to release a 5.5 inch tire in a compound that works well on the rocks is going to have a big seller on their hands.

Looking forward to seeing more crawler related products from Team Losi!"thumbsup"

Another vote for 5.5"-5.75" height with no additional width.

Make 'em sticky, tall and narrow... you'll have the top 2.2 tire for crawling within a few months of release! "thumbsup"

Hi Mike,
Ya i'm hoping to be able to stop in here from time to time. It's tough with work and my girls still playing fastpitch Softball which seems to take up 6 days out of the week LOL.
I still have my 3 speeds and still mainly use my Bruiser to crawl with. I'm building a 2.2 but just have not found time to finish it.
Rich

Glad to hear you still got the 3 speeds, you still have your tacoma as well?

Be sure not to be a stranger here, theres a lot of cool guys with a lot of rigs, looking for a company to meet their needs "thumbsup"

Looking forward to trying the new tires some day soon 8)

-Mike

Dirk, guys,

Do not turn this thread into a Proline thread.

I have deleted the posts referring to PL.

I don't know, shouldn't Losi need a vendors star to be pimping their tires here?

Not right now, no. It is difficult for some of the larger RC company's like Losi or Proline to purchase a vendor star because of their internal processes.

We are giving Losi the same opportunity that we gave Proline (which Proline said they did not need).

I know it breaks the typical vendor rules but Jason and I make this exception for a certain time frame because of the potential positive impact from having such large RC company's participating in the RC Crawling world.

That's the right way to do it. The other guys were given the same treatment."thumbsup"

Wow, this forum is fast...I just got the call today that my LHS placed 6 sets on BO...My name is on one set. I have always loved Losi's soft compounds. My only concern is the thinner sidewall on sharp rocks.

I vote for a 5.5" tall also.

Welcome aboard!!!!

"thumbsup"

i think by this time next year 5.5" will be the standard for 2.2's
i just went from custom 5.5 all t's to moabs. as for looks there is no compairison. for function the moabs grab better but dont have the clearance i need for some of the stuff iam running. a 5.25" or 5.5" moab would be nice.

As much as I hate to agree with Badger.....this is a good policy.

ahhh, words to live by for many things in life..... :D

but on a serious note, these tires look awesome!! they look like they are capable of handling the wet, slick, muddy stuff us guys from the eastern side of the country are used to!!!

also, this reminds me of when Losi introduced their first Maxx sized tire. when they did it, they denied that they were going to release an MT, and we got hit with the LST!!!!

and one last thing, albeit a bit off the crawler topic...
has losi tested these tires out in 1/10 scale Stadium trucks? how do they handle on muddy sloppy tracks?

This is true!

It's nice to see Losi taking a stab at rock crawling. They have all the resourses for doing something out of the ordinary. Just like the posts above, Losi never started something they couldnt finish! Only time will tell whats on the horizon....

Thanks Rich, old buddy old pal

So if Losi as a Crawler Tire for 2.2's..... Do they have a Losi RTR or ARTR Crawler Truck in the works as well? That has 2.2's....:)

Ya never know whats going on in those four walls.

Just like the rest of us here, we built our rigs off the tire size first, then look at everything else. I would say this is a ground level step in the right direction."thumbsup"

Tire looks great Rich

I'm a long time fan of Losi products. I run Losi shock on all my crawlers and encourage all my customers to do the same (Losi makes the best shock in the industry IMO). I've never had any issues stocking Losi parts at my shop. Personally I don't care for 5.5 tires I think it razes the C.G. to much, but I could see a use for a taller tire in some areas. Out here on the Slick Rock I like the 5" tire.
It is good to see Losi making some stuff for R/C crawling. Keep 'em coming.
