I've recently started up mountain biking, and I am now looking for a good bike. I know there are a lot of bikers on here and I need your help.

I normally do cross country riding but lately I done a little downhill and some North Shore type technical trails. I love downhill and freeriding. And now I would like to get a bike that suits my riding. My question is, what short of brand offers the best bike for this type of riding. I am about 5'7" so I can't handle too big of a bike. My budget is between 1500 to 2000 being that I am a high school student. Yes, I do have a good paying job so I can afford a good bike. I have been thinking about getting the Iron Horse Yakuzua Sohon Bucho. Please all of the bikers help my with this and give your opinions.

You do have a few options here. I would take a look at the following -

• Norco Sasquatch
• Specialized P2
• Specialized HardRock Sport Disc
• Specialized BigHit FSR (If your really into Downhill)
• Cannondale Chase 1, 2, 3 - Great bikes! I've ridden the Chase 2 myself

Those should do you some real justice 8)

Most of those bikes are within the price range but they are HT. I am looking for a DS bike. Thanks for the advice.

Did you even look up the Big Hit?

That is a 7 and 7 travel bike, hence the name big hit 8)

They are very nice bikes man! I have one, and have been using/abusing it all summer!

Just don't buy used. You'll end up getting used.

BTW, if you're a fan of 1BadJeepBruiser's stuff, help keep Mike in business, consider that Iron Horse ;)

As you stated i won't do anything online. I almost got hosed on rcuniverse. But the closest Iron Horse dealer is 2 hrs from me.
