There is this thing called freedom of speech.

What it means is if someone says something you don't like... TUFF CHIT!
YOU need to deal with it, Not them.
If I step on toes read the last part of the above quote.
I have to laugh every time I see the free speech card pulled on an internet forum. I spent several years moderating and administrating a very active forum with 15,000 members. I received many complaints daily from the usual 'he is flaming me' to 'I am leaving because someone said damn' and that is with trying to keep the forums cleaner than the barney show (and honestly quite boring). What people do not realize is that when they decide to join a forum they have to click a little check box that says this is a private forum and they have to abide by the rules set by the administrator, not make up new ones for other members to abide by because that person is easily offended.
Every forum on the internet develops a personality and just like the people you hang out with if you do not like their personality your best bet is to find someone new. Unfortunately people join forums without learning about its personality and then expect everyone else to change. This ends in one of two ways, the newbie just accepts what they see and learns how things work or they constantly spar with other members and staff trying to make things change until they cannot take any more and blow their lid or just leave.
Am I saying you should never voice concerns to the staff? No. What I am saying is that there are some battles that should not be fought.

When I first started reading at RCC I was a bit taken back by what I read and for that reason I did not join right away. Once I learned the personality of the old RCC I actually really enjoyed it. Things have since calmed down quite a bit and the forums are not as entertaining as they used to be because you cannot give your friends as much crap without someone freaking out. That said I think the staff here does an excellent job when you consider the personality of RCC.

Its pretty much me, TOT, and XR100 that get all the crap.

Of course were all kids.

how old are you. 13? i;m 16 and i can deal with alot of crap, it's about walking away leave your computer and go outside for a few minutes and cool down, then come back at it with a new look.

M175, I have nothing against you personally. I have even offered to help you w/ your crawlers.

The problem is the attitude and ultrasensitivity so many of the younger members like yourself possess.

I use ILRCRC as an example. No one was harassed as much as he was IMO, yet he learned from it, used the experience in a positive way and became a much better member of the forum.

There was thread in the WK section, Guy said he cut all this stuff up on his WK, Then asks if they will still cover it under warranty , so i post back ( are you serious?) so then M715ForLife gets in there and says are you trying to get you post count up noob. I say no i was actually being serious .I been a member since 2005 and don't post alot because i use the Search feature thats why my post count isn't high. So he gave it out as much as he received it he's no angel either. personally i don't care what is said on the site. If i had a younger kid would i let him on here probably not. I think this site is great and has alot of useful info. like others said if you don't like something you read from someone put that individual on ignore or just don't visit the site. plain and simple. i'm sure these guys are doing the best they can. keep up the great work mods"thumbsup"

This is the last time I am stating this.

EVERYONE of you that has disagreed with me has taken my points and twisted them.

I don't CARE about poopie.... I guess I should have used a better, more colorful example.

I didn't think it was necessary but apparently it is.

How can ANY of you argue that smokinbyurc post "ya fawk, go jerk off you dad" is right?

How can you say that did not deserve a ban?

I bet many of you think I should be banned for this thread.

It just goes to show, 10 guys can look at the same picture and see 20 different things each.

I feel bad that some of you feel I was attacking you. That was not the case.

If you can't see my thread for what it really is that is not my problem.

WATCH IT! they're not toys, and you do it too mr man :)

I never said I don't play with toys or act immature. I fully admit I am making up for lost childhood due to my own circumstances. The difference is I won't lie about it to you guys.

Hell, I have collected comics for years, I watch fansubbed anime every week from Japan, I have a bunch of RCs and I've been yelled at by a bitchy neighbor and told to grow up.

If growing up means I have to be a cranky, miserable old man, screw that. I'd rather be a happy but cranky old man. :)

Don't you think everyone ripping on them instead of pointing them in the right direction is going to make them ultra sensitive??!

Example:
There was a post on here a while back about a guy that wanted his High pressure line on his power steering replaced by a hose with hose clamps.

If the owner of the shop said, You can't do that you idiot! the line will just blow off!!

How much is that guy going to want to come back next time?

No, he explained the best he could about why it would not work and I bet that guy had a lot better opinion about the service he was getting.

My point is, after treating someone like they the dumbest rock on the planet, What the hell do you think thats going to do to someone?

Make them ask better questions?! no.

Its going to put that person in a bad mood.

I don't care if i would have read that,Do i think it's right no, but i don't think he should be banned the first time, maybe 3 strike rule, then get banned for a week.

Last year this time all the drama was about rockwerks and his opinions on bodies not being legal...

You guys need to focus and find something to complain about related to Nats before it's too late!
