I have a hustler super class tuber on order and was wondering what esc and motors people would suggest for it. Is it better to run 2 esc's and brushless motors or 1 esc and brushed motors. Not sure what battery's will be on it but i know that it wont be lipo's and i will only have a 3 channel radio, i am not all that smart with esc's and electric motors i have always had nitro so any info would be alot of help, Thanks

If you are running clod axles for a super and are positive you are sticking with 3 channels, you are better off running 2 escs brushed or not. I run brushed because that's what I had and you would be hard pressed to find a better esc than the mamba max.

Buy good quality motors so you can get the full advantage of drag brakes, brushed or brushless. Check out all the vendors, jpscustomrcs probably has the largest selection of brushed motors, johnrobholmes might be your best bet for brushless.

The only problem with 3 channels is lack of independent rear steer. There is a steering computer now that might be the ticket, but for $60 you could put it towards a dx6 and be money ahead in the long run

Or you have the option of going simple and less expensive with 2-55T Lathe motors, a Novak crawler ESC, and duel servos for rear steer. I had mine set up with duel ESC's and duel servo's with a DX7, and didn't like it at all. I went back to 55T's and a single ESC, but still with the rear steer and a DX3.
There's a lot of options.

I'm was thinking 3 channels for a stick transmitter, go figure?!?!

Now that my brain has started working, 3 channels implies he will be using a pistol transmitter, which would mean he's better off running independent steering with 1 esc. Sorry for my mix-up.

I will still put in a plug for a dx-6 though!
