NiCd or NiMh

nimh packs can store pretty much double the capacity of a nicd for the same weight. the biggy is nimh batteries do not develop a charge memory like a nicd. with a nicd, if you only use it half way, charge it up again, use it some, charge it etc. it will develop a memory that will prevent it from ever taking a full charge.

That pretty much covers it.
NiCd is old technology, NiMh outperforms it in pretty much every way.
