With winter here, I get bored and that's when I start building!

I am re-incarnating my Bronco scaler for next season since it was torn apart to build my comp. crawler:

What guidlines will our club be following?

Are we just building them for fun or competition?

Limited articulation, servo mounting, etc. were all discussed but what did we settle on?

I say we just build them how we want and just do "Fun Runs" so everyone can build what they like.

What does The Prez say?

"YOU BOTH ARE BANNED" :flipoff:

Seriously, we are still trying to see if it is worth it. Sounds like some new scalers are going to be popping up in 2008.

To be safe, I would build to as close as the published scaler rules.

We had an officers meeting two weeks ago and this subject came up.

There are a lot of exciting things coming up in 2008.

I would say that limited articulation and scale look would be safe bets, if we do anything at all. ;-)

(in the wizard of oz voice) DA PREZ has Spoken!!!!!!

I figure that even if we don't do competitions with them, we can still do fun runs. If that's the case, we can "run what ya brung" and not have to be as critical with rules since there is nothing to win or lose.

Maybe do some scale event on Saturday and comps on Sunday. I think I would actually like the trail rides I see the scalers taking even more than the comp crawling.

I'm going to try and get back into racing my dirt bike and most of those events are on Sunday so we'll have to see how it works out when the time comes.

Follow the rules on Scale4x4 or look at the Colorado Scale Comps thread for ideas on rules to follow. Ours will be modeled after those as they are pretty darn good if you ask me.

Right now it is a matter of seeing if we have enough interest to go big with the scalers. 4 link guys need to remember you will have limited articulation, as the guys with leaves dont get much in the way of twist...

Well Put!!! "thumbsup"

All I hear is Blah, Blah, Blah...

Just wait...

im not to firmiler with the rules for a scaler. im making a 2.2 scaler, the body is about 25 1/2" long. its 1/8 scale. would this work for our rules?

Man Razor, you're on a totally different scale than us.

Stuff that would be challanging for a 1/10 should be no problem for you.

To make it fair, we'll just remove your front driveshaft...and make you run on 3 wheels!

Does anyone locally carry leafsprings?

Does Coles stock them?

ill put limited slip in to front axle for you mike. and keep the rear locked up. read my sig and your figure out my project."thumbsup"

Mike, I have 2 sets of Tamiya leafs. Bruiser style and HL style.

I'm gonna have a 1.9 and a 2.2 scaler. Them NOSTR guys are all about scale. We can run w/ them if there's not enough intrest in WPAC. Too bad you guys dcouldn't make it out. They're indoor course is nice!

But we should have enough guys. Pretty soon we're gonna need 2 day events for all the classes and guys we'll have by summer "thumbsup"

well I am down that is the way to do a 2 day event IMO.. it would be relaxed no rush to get home just have a good time. and you would have time for some fun events like hill climb rock race stuff like that to.
