although im not new to RC nor Crawling....
i am new to this mini/micro scene, so....

ive ordered the slickrock from vattera (mentioned somewhere before) lol
however, this rig comes with a brushed motor and ESC.

off the bat and before i even receive it... i want to replace the motor/ESC and dont know what my options are nor if i can go brushless (if they exist in this scale)???

Is there a brushelss system for 1/18??
if not...

what motor should i consider (i know it will be in higher turn) but i want a good reliable motor.

onto the ESC...
Something that can take LiPo, because i dont even care to use a POS nimh 6c pack that this comes with.

Opionions, suggestions defintely welcome here!!!

thanks!!

You should check out castle creations 1/18 sidewinder esc and brushless motor combo's. You can get them off eBay for around $75.

Supposedly the slickrock is the rebirth of the MRC platform. Similar axles tranny and so on..... Might have good luck checking in the MRC section.

I recently ordered an 18amp Hobbywing ESC and 3000kv Tacon 2030 BL motor for my MaxStone 16 , "MRC clone" and the combination works well.

Good luck

ok, some good suggestions here but can anyone tell me what turn the motors are?
i noticed when looking around that it doesnt really state this on the smaller motors.

:D

1/18 scale motors are generally too big and powerful for micro's. There are some small to very small ESCs out there though. Receivers too.

Am running a Castle SideWinder Micro ESC on a Losi McRC (Trekker bent links as lowers, Miclaws on Danally modded factory wheels) with a 4PL and R2106GF micro receiver with DDT 90t motor. MAJOR difference in smoothness and low speed control vs a Spek Dx3c and factory esc/rcvr combo.
