1/6 Scale Nylint Crawler

Here is the place on the Jeep where you can change the channel. A very nice feature to have!

They give you a special tool to remove the hub caps, then it is just a matter of loosening a phillips screw to pop the wheel and tire off.

Moving to the front axle, very suprisingly, it rides on bearings.

Also very cool in the second picture here you can see the front axle shaft. Before it tapers down it is at least 2X as big as a stock clod shaft!

Looks like you could easily put hobby grade electrics and axles in it... and have a sweet jeep.

Now onto the remote. To me this is the only part of the entire thing that seems like it was done very cheaply. I think they really could have done a better job with it.

You can see on the back where you need to adjust what channel you are on to match the car.

Unlike the smaller ones these ones you adjust high or low gear on the remote. I haven't ran this yet, but my guess is it doesn't actually shift gears, but it just gives the motors more volts. The radio takes a single 9 volt battery.

Edit: I was wrong about that, just went and drove it a little, it actually does shift gears, it grinds them everytime!

You can also see here it has adjustable trims right on the radio.

Onto the questions.

Yes the diffs are locked from the factory.

Quick measurment on the shocks shows about 6" extended, about 3.5" collapsed. They are riveted into place though. So it'll take a little work to swap them out.

Do I plan on any mods......hmmmm......I don't think I've ever left anything stock!

Tomorrow I'll take it out and run it on the rocks and we'll see how it does!

Nope not the same as a tlt, otherwise they'd have been on my clod already.

Clods and tlt's are the same.

I have no way to measure these, but they have a smaller hex.

Smaller? Wow, that's a small hex for such a large wheel. You need some calipers. I'll look for the write up. My neighbor's kids were going nuts over my 1:18 jeep. Luckily the batteries were almost gone, because I wanted to go inside.

As with any sweet ride, you can't go long before the hoochies start coming out of the wood work!

Whoops, they didn't know, you don't mess around in my kitchen or you get a 50 cal pointed at your head!

Man, all these new Nylint crawlers are starting to get my attention. Pretty kewl vehicles!! Might have to break down and pick up one of the 1/18th guys. Just noticed in the one picture of the radio..... 5mph @ 6 grand huh? Must be geared pretty darn low eh?

Here is the size of the battery. I am guessing runtimes are in the 1 to 2 week range
