1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler

The reason I was asking the difference between the proline and tamiya broncos. Is I have headlight and taillight buckets mirrors and grill for the tamiya bronco. And not going to use them anymore.

I wonder how close they'd be? I was looking at some headlight buckets and taillight buckets on shapeways.

That SERIOUSLY looks nice Mike!! :)

I happen to know that the Tamiya Bronco Body is a 252mm wheelbase, and nearly 1/11th Scale.... If that makes any difference.
I was looking for one to go on my CC01, which is the same wheelbase.
I'm pretty sure that the Pro-Line is longer and wider, if that makes any difference in light sizes.

My rgt came with a tamiya ish bronco body that is why I have those parts cause I was going to run to the body and move the bumper lights to the light buckets.

I agree guys - I checked out the specs on the Tamiya Bronco versus the PL Bronco. I think the scale would be off as far as the light buckets, mirrors, etc. I'll figure something out. That's half the fun any way!

BTW - I'm thinking about masking and hitting the rockers with the bedliner as well? Good idea or no?

Kinda cold and crappy out, and I still need to get the grill done, but I couldn't resist a quick run in her native element! :lmao:

She's gonna be a fun little rig!"thumbsup"

DAAAAAAMN!!!! "thumbsup"
The Body color looks even BETTER when the Sun hits it!! (Or at least the reasonable facsimile of the Sun!) Seriously though, that Color really pops.

...... And a Yes vote on the Bedliner!

Thanks Carmine. I'm loving the color too. It just catches all different kinds of light and looks deep and dark one moment, than mossy green, then almost black. Really compliments the sharp lines of the body I think. And yes my sun drenched friend, there was a modicum of the big orange ball out. Didn't help temps though as it was only 31 degrees.

I checked out the dinky rc interiors. I think I'm going to go with the "universal" one for the front, and then try and do a polystyrene deal for the back area. Thanks for the heads up!"thumbsup"

ALWAYS glad to help, at least how I'm able!!
Before I was able to jump in with that HG P402 of mine.... I was an "Armchair Modeler" for over a year. I managed to do a LOT of research from people in the know. Sittin' at Home all Day with a busted up Back, gives a guy many hours every Day, to research everything!!

I'm at least feeling good enough to get out, and see how Spawned runs.... As soon as she's finished enough! When putting her back together after installing the new Motor and ESC (THANK YOU again!!!), I lost some of the hardware to put her back together!!

I NEED 6 Coarse Thread, 3x20mm, Button-Head Allen Screws.... If you should have any spares...
(and this would be the first thing I can recall ASKING you for!! ;-) Re: Our earlier conversation about me being punked.)

Finally had time to get the grill done last night. Definitely finishes things off nicely. I've got the DinkyRC universal interior on order, so that will be next. I'll have to figure something out for the back bed area though because the Dinky interior won't extend back that far. Plus I've got have it clear the body mount posts. Also looking to do fender wells with something like Gladware or Yougurt/Sour Cream containers.

Screwing around with some different wheel/tire combos on the Bronco just to check out different looks. Always amazes me how much a wheel/tire combo can completely change the character of the Rig!

First pic are the LockedupRC wheels off of my Truggy. I love these wheels period, but damn do they look good on this rig. I think the RC4WD tires are a little tall on this rig though.

Second pic are the Boom Racing Sandstorm wheels with off-brand swampers. I do like these Boom wheels, and they are by far the easiest beadlock I've ever put together. I also really like the scale of these off-brand swampers on this truck. I'd say they're about the perfect size for it. TBH, they are surprisingly tacky and grippy as well.

I was thinking the same thing. Problem is, then I gotta score another set of wheels for the Truggy. I do still like the Gearhead wheels I had on it to start though. I can always swap things back and forth too.

I like the boom racing wheels. Its the color that doesn't work for me. Could also de-anodize them so they are silver then they would work.

I agree - the red is a bit much. I may blast them with some Easy Off oven cleaner. Works every time!"thumbsup"

...... Being the gawdy, old school Italian Guy - I actually LIKE the Red! :) Although with that Body color, it clashes.
The Locked-Up Wheels look great too. It is true, I've heard it since the 70's, the Rims MAKE the Ride!!

It might not be apparent from these photos, but the 2mm difference between the Tamiya Bronco and the Barrage wheelbase was just enough to mean the rear wheel didn't tuck as nicely as I wanted. I wish I had spent more time mounting it and had shifted it back a bit. Sadly, I got stupid and hacked it up trying to mount 1.9 Rock Beasts. I liked it a lot more when it had most of the original fenders intact.

The Tamiya Bronco is definitely the better choice for the stock Barrage wheelbase - even with the slight difference. The Proline would be way too long. But, I did an SCX skid and links so it fits mine perfectly.

Are those swampers the austar kind? And what are the height of them?

Yes sir, they are the Austar - Height is 4.28". I got these for like $23 shipped - all four tires and some smoked chrome plastic beadlock wheels. Didn't use the wheels obviously.
