1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler

It wasn't tumble at all, o anything out of the ordinary for that matter. It was fine and then it was 3WD and then it was rear-wheel drive.

Scary that the drive shafts in the front axle can snap under normal running conditions. I'd show you a picture, but I still can't figure out how to add pictures to this damn forum, lol

Thanks HB,

How can I prevent these driveshafts from snapping? Is there an upgrade?

HA! still can't seem to get pics to work. I feel like a dumb dummy.

Dirty Steve got a little crazy with the nitrous today when he was in a bind. He ripped apart a VVD and paid the price. No trail side fix for this one. He limped it back to the garage for repairs.

Besides the servo is that the first real carnage for dirty Steve?

Yes sir. And he's been absolutely ranking on this thing! He doesn't even seem to be worried about the body and paint any more!:lmao:

Ordered some new VVD's today. Dirty Steve should be back on the trail by the end of the week. In the meantime, I'll keep cuttin in some more trail for him."thumbsup"

I will definitely keep on eye on this thread, since my Barrage is relatively new. I've stripped the rear spool and the other is fading fast, but apart from that I'm not disappointed.

Remind me again, Mongol Pete, whether you're running Gen 1 or Gen 2 and if you've put oversize tires on your rig...

Hi hobbyjumper,

I have the BTD (kit) version Barrage and I run 1.9 Axial Ripsaws with chains.

Mongol Pete, you must really be hard on your Barrage. I have a V1 RTR box stock, have rolled, submerged and crashed on rocks and all I ever broke is the front spool. Replaced with metal. Still have the original servo though 2 spares are ready. Oversized tires too. Still running fine.

Hi Pete,

If I am hard on it, it is due to lack of experience with crawling. I have not done anything out of the ordinary that I know of. I guess I could see the plastic diff spool stripping, but I certainly have not done anything I would expect to snap the front drive shaft. We'll see what happens with the metal spools and replacement shafts.

It took me forever to figure out how to post pictures, and the pictures don't show up on my tablet only on my laptop?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't figure out how to get pics on here, but it still makes me feel like a dumb dummy.

WOW! Clean break. I think I stripped my gear when binding on a rock. Learned a lesson, if it binds, back up! Hope you get your parts soon.
