1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler

Re: 1.9 Barrage RTR and BTD and Gen 2 1/10 Crawler

Yea, I started a thread about that, and was told ecx doesn't get its own forum because they are "cheap" and dont win comps or have a big aftermarket following.....

When I pointed out that the wheely king and duratrax cliff climber have their own forums and dont exactly win comps or have a big aftermarket, they deleted my thread.....
You could always go over to www.ECXForum.com. They have a Barrage sub forum.

Taking the proper routes as I'm one of the biggest advocates of the barrage and bring it up for consideration for someone looking for a good trail rig.

I ask you to post your comments in the link below. And start build threads to show your barrage support. Maybe with people speaking up and a show they are out there we can get a sub forum.

:For sure - All pedal and no finesse. Like I said, a real A-H0le!:lmao:

No consideration for the guy that has to repair his Rig!

Got Dirty Steve back on the trail using the previous CVD that he didn't gut. I've advised the A-H0le that he needs to start being a bit more judicious with the right pedal and the nitrous. We'll see if he takes it to heart. He was also driving around in the landscape, which pisses the wife off, so I did think that was kinda funny!:lmao:

He also said that he felt like the generic Swampers were really starting to come in to their own.

So, after being driven like a rental since his completion, I owed Dirty Steve's rig a bit of love. Did a mild tear down and inspection last night. I am thoroughly impressed with the abuse this little rig has held up to! Other than two broken CVD's, which were entirely DIRTY STEVE'S fault, there have been zero problems. I did find a broken cross pin in the right front wheel hex, but that's no biggie, and was probably more likely a result of me over-tightening the wheel nuts.

I'm also going to send the HH TorqueMaster Expert 30T out to Holmes for a full rebuild. This motor has seen a lot of abuse in both my AX-10 that it came out of, and definitely in Dirty Steve's Barronco. That bastard Dirty Steve goes out of his way to hit Mud, Water, Rocks, gnarly trails, running in the rain, you name it. He says she's definitely no trailer queen.:lmao:

Lastly, it's a thorough shock cleaning and oil replacement, and Dirty Steve will be back on the trail throwin it at the wall!

BTW, these pics are actually after a good dry brush cleaning to knock all the dried dirt and grit off. There had to be a few ounces worth on the shop towel. LMAO!

About that cr-12 this makes it interesting
meets S.O.R.R.C.A. class 1 and 2 rules right out of the box
But the wheelbase will be super short a full 1.1 inches shorter then the barrage.
Length: 372mm (14.65in)
Width: 178mm (7.01in)
Wheelbase: 225mm (8.86in)
Weight: 1110g (2.45lbs)

I would still get the barrage gen2 over this truck. The CR 12 looks like a nice truck but just a little too small for my liking. Street price is $199 on the CR 12

Yea a 10 in wheelbase is definitely the smallest I would want to go. Losing over an inch would make so much stuff impossible IMO.... As it is my barrage G2 can keep up with SCX10's much of time time, with the major limiting factor being wheelbase.... speaking of wheelbase... thats an odd one for bodies isnt it? witha 10" wheelbase, many (non crawler) 1/10 scale bodies are a perfect fit, bodies made for the traxxas stampded for example, which pro-line has many, are a perfect fir with a 10" WB...., plus you can use CC-01 bodies, same 10" WB (9.9").....

Well, our ECX BOOrrage has been nothing short of a nightmare, a big ol' LEMON. Well, when life gives you lemons...

This truck is undergoing a total makeover. I finally got rid of those toy-grade axles and it now sits on some beefy SCX10 style axles. I also installed an HSP 540 transmission and will run a decent 540 crawler motor. The best part of the project though is that this BOOrrage will rise again, better than ever as the...Midnight BOOrrage! I'm gonna run this classic Tamiya hardbody!
