Okay im only 5' 5"/115lbs but im really lookin into buying a shotgun (I decided to post after, since I saw the girlfriend thread by mello yello)

I have wanted a 20 gauge when I was in middle school, but now a 12 gauge is what I want, being 16 soon. I know my parents will have to sign for it and all, and it'll be in my parents room most likely, but Id love a 12 gauge.

I heard remington would be a great first shotgun, I dont care about recoil, my friend thats in 8th grade (im 10th) shot a 12 gauge last weekend and said his shoulder hurt, but im stronger/bigger then he is

I would like to buy one after I get a job, so try to keep it 350 or less!

EDIT:
I do not want this for hunting purpose.

I paid 250 for my Remington 870 Express Magnum. If I were you I would go with either a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500. Both can easily be had for under 350. Both are very nice shotguns and really customizable if you want to add an aftermarket stock, sights, shorter/longer barrel or anything like that.

i think if ay gun dealer read ur last post (ur edit) they should not sell one to you... thats scary... not wanting one for hunting purposes.... so pretty much ur saying you dont ind throwing your life away along with the fines and the cost of a gun instead of just involving the police... man kids are scary these days..

Im white! LOL jk thats racist.

Okay so buying a gun and not hunting means there is no reason for guns? What about people that to target practice/ go to free shooting ranges where you put up your own targets (out 15 mins frmo ehre) and thats where Id go, its legal, no ones ever there, and you can shoot anything you want besides humans and dogs/cats LOL!

He said it wasnt for hunting.

I just dont trust people.

You are a piece of work:roll: Because someone owns a gun and does not go hunting they are buying it for the sole purpose of committing crimes? I own 5 guns and all were purchased for uses other than hunting and yet I have not held up a 7-11, shot my annoying co-workers, or waved one in anger when I was cut off in traffic.
The way you are thinking we should just lock up black men because some of them commit crimes and we just can't trust them.

I wish children were taught how to use and respect firearms instead of making assumptions.

TLT, First step is to talk to your parents about this and let them know what you are thinking. Do not get mad at them if they decide not to let you have one, they will have their reasons. If on the other hand they are cool with it the Remington 870 Express is a great gun, simple, easy to clean, and cheap"thumbsup"

He can wait and buy the gun once he turns old enough.

Just for future refrence, my father, according to my Step mom, Is
A gun toting, militiary freek, redneck.

If my 16 year old asked me for a gun, Id let him use mine.

"thumbsup"I would buy nothing other than a Browning. Never mind you only wanna spend $350. I would get the Tacitcal Mossberg then. We them in our cop cars for the city and they are pretty nice. I wanna say they hold like 8 shells with the tube out to. They are both decent guns though. I only shot Browning shotguns though.

I don't care what kind of person your father is. Your first response is that he has no use for a gun and then you tell me that if your 16 year old asked you for one you would let him use yours. How would letting your child use your gun be any different then buying a gun with the intention of letting them have it when they are old enough. In both cases the 16 year old would have to be under adult supervision while using the gun in most states.

I am in no means anyway jumping on the wagon and ripping on you, but what!? I thought it was called the 2nd amendment?? they teach you that yet? or do they hold off on that until 5th grade now?

As long as I have ALL the money, find a good deal, legally they will let me get one, I already told em I want one today, and my bro wants one, so if he gets one thats another excuse for me to get one!

Its not like I havent owned guns before,

I have shot .22s for fun since i Was 10, probably started shotting the .38 pistol since 12 (its frickin loud for a pistol)

We got a 357 S&W cop gun, but it got water damage and we never got it cleaned/checked out yet, it was in a river for a month or few months Im not sure!

The Remington 870 Express is a nice shot gun. My dad uses one for turkey hunting. I have a Benelli Nova 12 ga that I use for hunting turkeys and I really like it.

Hmm I might actually go for turkey, If I get all legal, if I need to? Im not sure if anyon3e in washington knows if I go to my parents 10 acres with them, and shoot a few turkeys for food? or do I still need a license!
