2015 scale rules discussion or question thead

Just to clarify, no knuckle weights in any of the 3 classes? Or is C3 Ok to run em since it's a modified class..?

Also if not, then are the Dlux brass knuckles considered illegal since they are a knuckle or..?

Thanx dp

"No Comp style knuckle weights" in any class.
And Dlux brass knuckles are not knuckle weights they are knuckles so very legal.

• No comp style knuckle weights of any kind

someone here in Italy adds small pieces of lead on the axles.
these should be considered illegal?

Thanx

The winching rules are missing.

Self-Recovery: (+3 pts each)
A self-recovery penalty will be assessed every time the vehicles winch cable is connected/reconnected, or self-recovery tools are positioned/repositioned. If at any time during the process of removing recovery tools and/or winch line from vehicle, the vehicle is moved by any force other than it's winch or its own power, a touch penalty will be assessed and the vehicle repositioned to the last cleared gate (see vehicle touch rule).
All self-recovery tools (sand ladders, etc.) must be carried on the vehicle.

Its there same as last year?

The rule is for comp style "knuckle weights", those aren't too scale but neither is the axle case itself.
Its legal but some black paint or even tungsten putty inside the case would look better.

So Dlux Brass Knuckles with the Slugs holes and brass slugs still OK?

Dlux Knuckles are Dlux Knuckles??"thumbsup"

What was the ruling on the Ascender "floating" battery tray?
I'm not running one but saw it asked someplace else... they guy said he read here that it was Legal.
I thought it was ruled Illegal...

Illegal if its mounted to the axle. Lock it out to chassis mounted and your fine.

I do have a concern with the on course point out rule. With most drivers being judged by one judge, the judge will have to do the adding of penalty points as they are judging. That could cause the judge missing someone hitting a gate, using reverse, etc.

If a driver is acquiring points rapidly then the judge would probably warn him and stop time to add the points up. It's not going to happen too often but a decent judge will know when the points are getting close to 80.

Quick question on C1 legality for a project I'm working on. Not 100% sure that I'll be going this route, but thought I'd ask to be sure.

It's stated that you are allowed to remove a hardtop in C1, but have to have a full windshield - would replacing the stock windshield with something custom fabbed (that still meets dimensions etcetera) remain legal? Here's an example of what I mean (I'm building a different model of unimog, but would be doing the same style of tubework if I were to go this route):

Without the windshield on for a better look at the tube/roof removal:

again, unsure if I'm going to go this route, but thought I'd ask beforehand.

also, multi axle rigs allowed in c1 now? woot!

Sorry, but you have to have an actual windshield in Class 1.
