2015 scale rules discussion or question thead

It seems like this stuff comes up from time to time and usually could be answered by some research/reading. I think winnerone23 did a great job of explaining the rules, as they are they would not receive points for integrated shock mounts according to the current rules.
I don't think anyone is trying to slight the efforts of builders, doesn't mean everyone has to agree on design choices though.

I was just looking for a clear and concise answer from a committee member. Opinions of others are just that. Opinions.

Isn't that what this thread is for. Asking questions?

I know how the rules read. (I've read them) but I did notice like GiJoe stated where it was brought into question bolting shock hoops on in earlier posts on this thread. I see my choice of suspension more as a hindrance than performance.

Thanks.

It probably is more of a hindrance, but a lot of us make some sacrifices to get the build we want. I ended up using fairly short shocks (75mm) instead of a cantilever system on my current build. Not ideal but I didn't want my hoops sticking up too high and didn't want the cantilever either.

I wasn't involved in the bolt on discussion, but to me, it's more about the method than the material. Bolt-on is bolt-on no matter if its carbon fiber or steel. I really don't see a valid argument for getting points for bolting on aluminum shock hoops.

Would this body be considered a full body and receive the full -8 scale points?

I would say no since it's not a "full" body. No front clip. But it is cool looking!"thumbsup"

Ok so I made a 1.9 trail class buggy and I was wondering if it would be class 3 legal?

here's the measurements: widest part of the doors: 5"

inside of tires: 6.25"

Thanks

Sounds like it would....but easier to see from a picture. How tall are you on the side, IE: bottom of chassis to top of cage?

Ok just wanted to verify on my c2 rig, madscrambler had this rig in the 2015 scale nats but didn't want any doubt in my mind. The picture shows the widest part of the door which happens to be at the front right at the spot where the windshield normally is.

Tops of the tires on the inside measures 6 1/8 in.

Would the Trail Finder 2 bed section qualify as having inner fenders in stock form?

Most 1:1 rigs have raised wheel wells that result in inner fenders which the TF2 has also. Most lexan bodies do not have the raised wheel wells and people add them for the scale points.

I am curious about this also

I believe the answer is no.

I think we would typically like to see from the frame to what would be the bottom of the bed and the area between the bedside and the fender covered. However, it would make it a little easier to accomplish that because obviously you have some coverage from the bed.
