New bright raptor my son got for Christmas. We have plenty of real rc cars, so I figured I'd rig in a 4s hv battery and see how long it lasts. In the picture is the esc/reciever with a xt60 connector I added, which I also used conformal coating on. Going to get it back together and give it a go either tonight or tomorrow. Will post results (most likely a damage report) once I run it.

Animalhippie was workin on converting some toy grade to hobby grade awhile back. He hasnt updated on it in awhile though

Yeah it smoked. Turned it on, hit the throttle, and never even moved, just smoke. Kinda expected that, but would have been nice to drive it for a minute or 2. Oh well. Didn't even get to drive it with the original battery.

Hey, it killed some time though lol. U could always gut the stock electronics n add your own. Customizin is half the fun. Sure theres a way to add a servo n configure some type of trans gears in the stock trans

I was thinking that too. But I'm sure it'll self destruct with a decent set up in it. Could go with a mild brushed set up, but as for now, it'll be in pieces hidden from the kid.....
And here's a pic of what actually fried. Ignore the terrible conformal job, just kinda dripped some in after it was together.

I bought a RGT Barrage for spares, put 6s in it for a laugh...

Lasted a good 45 seconds until it took off across my garden by itself and self destructed!
