58_willys builds a Chebby

What tires are those?? Cant see any brand name on them. They look exactly like my 1:1 bfg's.
Rob.

They're the china version of RC4WD Mud Thrashers. I have acquired some BFG tire decals that will really finish them off for an awesome look.

Ok. I did find the RC4WD tires on the website. Where do you get the Chinese version?? Would love to get some decals also. No luck finding them. any leads?
Also, did you finish your fj-40?? I remember you made some rear door hinges, and latches and was wondering if you made them, or bought them. I might have asked this before.
I need to update my build page, lots of modification to show.
Thanks, Rob.

Chinese Mud T/A's They seem to be slightly wider than RC4WD version and no embossed logo on the side walls so decals should be easier to get to set right.

BFG tire decals

Cool thing is, you can change the size, color, and finish. "thumbsup"

The FJ is still on the shelf and the latches and hood catches are scratch built from styrene. Probably won't get back to it for awhile.

Small update...

After ordering two new sets of R&P gears and waiting, what seemed like an eternity, I got things back together. I have to admit, this is the smoothest, quietest gear set I have ever had.

Surprise bonus...the new gears are 3.00 gear ratio where the old ones were 2.66. Since the front has the original gears and the rear has the new ones, I'll have an extra bit of over drive in the front. I'm a little concerned with the front overdrive already present in the GCM transfer case and this added overdrive. Do you guys think this will be too much? If necessary, I can always throw the other set into the front, and just work it with the GCM overdrive...

Here's a pic of the completed drive train, just cuz.
