damn, change the color and the wheels and this thing would be sick!
restoring a 69 is a big enough project, and owning a ZL1 is a damn healthy investment, i cant imagine combining the two.

"This recently completed Camaro project was designed and built by Reiters Metalcraft Inc in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Power train consists of a 2009 Corvette ZR1 LS9 motor and a Viper 6 speed transmission. The ZR1 components continue with the 15" Carbon Ceramic brakes and 19x10 front wheels and 20x12 rears. Front sub frame is Art Morrison with a Currie 9" 3.90 rear end setup. The color is PPG Yellow"

"These are the types of guys all of us grease monkeys really enjoy reading about. “Jackass” is built by Mark Stielow, a GM engineer. This car has the soul of a 1969 Camaro, with the brains and brawn of a 2009 Corvette ZR1. Stielow took a 1969 Camaro, added a LS9 (6.0L Supercharged), 6 piston carbon-ceramic brakes from the ZR1 wrapped in the ZR1’s wheels. The Transmission is a Tremec T56 6-Speed from a Dodge Viper.
In an interview with Inside Line when he was asked about the cost of Jackass, Stielow stated “Well, I can tell you it’s cheaper to just buy a ZR1,”. It took Mark over 20 months to build the car, because this is a one-off project and required quite a bit of custom fabrication. Some of these parts wont even be given to you unless you own a ZR1 and have the VIN to prove it.

We love this project, especially the pale daytona yellow paint that disguises the beast that is sitting under its hood. While this project may be a bit out of reach for most gearheads, it’s always nice to admire some fantasy projects."

ya wheels look funky under it but im kinda diggin the line they molded into the front fender, its deff. different

thats stock, but i have read in a few places as it being labeled a widebody, so they may have widenened the fenders to fit the wheels, brakes, and possibly suspension.

I'd bet that's a repop body, not a restoration. Bad ass ride regardless. I agree with Dez on the paint and wheels. :ror:
could be one of the crate bodies, but no nessesarily, those things are like 20k+ arent they? you could find a plenty nice donor for that.

lol did anyone read my first sentence:mrgreen:

That is the blandest color of yellow I've seen in awhile, I don't think even racing stripes would bring it out...and yeah, the wheels have to go. Everything else is bad ass though.

I think the wheels would look better if they were deep dish. The color is not what I would have chosen, but it's not my car. I don't understand why so many 1:1 gearheads have a problem with the repop unibodies. Especially since most of what I've read about them states that they are built to a higher quality than the originals ever were. From the type of steel, to the extra reinforcements (coupes are built on convertible floorpans), and higher quality spot welds. I totally hate to sound like a commercial but if I were building one, that's probably what I would start with.

...I just want him to get that damn antenna off the fender. That has always irked me on anything other than a Cutlass Ciera.

I love yellow....but not a washed out, pale yellow. And those wheels....build a car like this and not have some something custom made??? Same goes for the engine cover....lame.

Bet she drives like its glued to the road!

I don't mind the wheels and intercooler cover, but that ugly ass color has to go! WHo know's those wheels might look better with a darker, more sinister color scheme.
