6s 50c & 2250kv "too" fast?

So, Im building a losi 8ight 'E' , and I'm wondering if I threw a 2250kv motor with a 6s if that would be so uncontrollable that it wouldnt be worth it? I don't race, I have no intentions of racing, just having all these crawlers and vintage stuff, I'd like to build something stupid fast for no other reason than, I can. Don't want to waste the money though if it might not be worth it.

Thoughts? Opinions? Even better... done it?

Well the e-revos are pretty nasty on 6s, i would say build it and get a 4s and a 6s battery. When my mamba monster gets here ill give an update about 4s.

I would go with a 4cell. I had a RC8Te with MMM esc and 2200kv motor on 4cell and it was crazy fast but still drivable. And with the Castle systems, they say a 4cell is the sweet spot for 1/8 scale buggies and truggies.

The 2650 on 6s with the right gearing and mods will break 100 MPH. I doubt thats what you are looking for. Most people ive seen racing with 6s are running the 1300kv tekin motors. Personally i havent seen an advantage to this over 4s and a bit higher kv but the theory is that since there is so much more voltage the motor becomes more efficient and you dont get as much curve as the battery drops from peak voltage. Granted, you said you arent racing, but even on my mugen i was only running 2650kc tekin motor on 3s. If you are just bashing all this doesnt matter much but 6s is normally more expensive and heavier.

Well for bashing purposes I'd say why not? There's never such thing as too much power however like a wise man once said power comes with responsibility lol. Problem I see is driveline parts wearing out too quickly. Like everyone said most 1/8 ebuggies run 3s-5s max but that being said they are for racing. Also with a 6s pack are you running dual 3s packs on both sides of the chassis? that 6s brick will throw your balance completely off let alone trying to find a body and battery tray to fit it.

I see if the Vorza handles 6s on a 2200kv why not? Just make sure you check your parts after each run. With crazy gearing breaking 100mph is no sweat.

That's a Losi 8ight truggy on 6s so a little more weight and rotating mass. Temps were fine even on a 20T pinion. I'm assuming stock spur.

I'm from Texas and down here most people will agree there's never such thing as TOO FAST lol!

I've driven the same buggy with a nearly identical power plant on 6s. It was a truly stupid thing. WOT is unthinkable. Tires will go bald so fast you'll wonder if there was ever any tread to begin with.

I'm not usually one to say No to more power, but 4s will be more than plenty.

After watching some vids here online... I think Im gonna go for it! Why the heck not?! Should be bad-arse till the first time I run it into something by accident. I've got plenty of room to run it, so Im thinking it'll be alright.

Now where to find a radar gun...

If you have a smartphone theres gps apps that record top speed, i have 2 that i use to verify the other is accurate. 2 apps that is.

The official answer is...

I don't know. I dont have enough flat ground to get it up to speed. "thumbsup"

But the thing is absolutely stupid fast, and a hell of a good time. I'll be taping my phone into in the next few days to get an idea of how fast Im going, and play with some gearing. Its taken me this long to get everything together, and then end up rebuilding the rear diff that the PO didn't happen to mention was fragged... but she is all setup now, and does a dang fine job of pancaking the tires.

After running two packs through it now, the thing is surprisingly durable..

The R/F tire however, was not. Because it blew out, and is now in 8 pieces.

Guess I should look for a little bit better quality tire... instead of the cheap arse integy tires/wheels I got for 30 bux.
