Started a build over on the 1.9 section, but wanted to share my morphed K5 into K10 4x4 styrene build. Don't want to bore everyone with the whole thread, but finally got a chance to mock it up on the chassis today. Rough mock up, just sitting on the chassis so far. Lots of work to do, couple panels, front grill and a ton of body work before paint.

Just finished the wheel wells...

Bore us? C'mon, man! This is some fantastic work!!

FLM BL E-Maxx - BL Slash - BL 4Tec - 1/16th Fiesta - Wraith - SCX-10 - Custom Axial 6WD - Custom Losi micro Monster Truck - Losi Micro-T Hummer - Custom Losi Micro Peterbilt Crawler - soon '65 Malibu Micro T Drifter

X2, that is sweet and one of my favorite classic chevy truck body styles. "thumbsup" More please.

I'm bored.

j/k, great work! Wheels look very nice too, what are they?

Hey Thanks! I stumbled across these - Integy C25339Gun on fleabay. Wasn't sure I'd like them, but when they came I was pleasantly surprised. They will go well with this build.

A little update...
Well tackled that grill, started with pre-cut strips, vice and slits so I could hopefully try to "mesh" it together. Used a foil kit for the "chrome". Buttoned up the tailgate closeout cover. Also started the priming process.

The strips......

The mesh.....

The grill.....

Misc.

Had to get creative as the ESC was sitting to high, its a Hobbywing 1060, when I inverted it it wound up fitting perfectly. also had to relocate the rear shocks so I added a set of 78mm GMade units. Got it in blue today, will have a silver band around the midsection.

Feel'n blue!

Got some silver on it, wet sand and clear coat. Clear really made the blue pop!

Before clear coat....

With clear.....

Couple shots of the chassis, been a little tough finding room, need to build a box for the electronics.

I Just set it on the chassis to see how it fits, lots of detail work to go, moldings paint the glass gaskets, glass, interior...... lots! Break time.

I agree, wayyyy to pretty to take off road! lol but either way that paint looks amazing on that body, I wish I had the patience to work with styrene like that.

it was an early attempt to reduce the torque twist issue with these. Contrary to the engineering beliefs and the chassis guru's - this did limit somewhat the amount I had tried to tame. Wasn't the absolute remedy but helped.

Tackled the moldings, and attached the grill. Learned a few more things with this build, and gained more tricks from the likes of Silverado1 as well! On to bumpers, trim, glass etc.
