80t motor too much for stock Tamiya King Hauler?

Hi, I have a Tamiya King hauler I got off ebay awhile back. The first upgrade I got for it was a RC4WD 80 turn motor. Ever since i put it in it seems to not want to push the rig around. Is it just too much for the stock transmission? Or is my middle and rear axel not able to handle it?

80t should be slow and full of torque. If it's not able to move your rig then there may be a problem with binding, the motor itself, or an electrical problem like bad esc/servo/bec. Try taking the motor out and carefully check the torque at low speed using your hand. If the motor's able to rip your fingers off, then you probably have a problem with binding so rotate your spur gear by hand with your wheels off the ground; it should spin freely and move the wheels with very little effort. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you StomperCrawler, yes it tried to rip my fingers off. I also checked the spur gear for binding no problems. I will say this. This King hauler is definitely of the first few years. From looking at the Esc it looks as if it is also. It's an old Duratrax Blaster with the old style screw setup. You did say could be an electrical issue. There is no issue with motor or trans. So a good bet it's a bad esc then?

If your esc is that outdated I would upgrade it. If your motor is working and your drivetrain spins smooth.
