9-11 where were you?

Walked into work with my only co-worker glued in front of the tv. Told me a plane crashed into the WTC. Didnt really think much of it. At the time I honestly didnt really have a grasp on what the WTCs really were. Then as I got to my desk he told me another one just flew into the other building. Watching the replays it didnt really seem real.

Ive had about 10yrs now to reflect. My thoughts today? It was a horrible thing.

It was a day Ill never forget probably just like the generation before never forgot what they were doin when Kennedy got shot. It was the only time I can remember that no music was played on the radio for at least three days. What a senseless loss of life.

I walked into the Crews Lounge before morning muster to find many of the enlisted personnel silent watching it unfold on tv. The command went to high alert and I then found myself setting up a barricade checkpoint manning a m60 for 8 hours that night.

at home.because of rain that day from work and watching the news, like every morning.and saw right after first plane hit and then live when second on hit.me and the wife watched a show on 20/20 or dateline last night about it and we both cried when they were talking about it and reminising.

I'm a union IRONWORKER and we were working on a bridge setting bridge gerders when we got the word we were under attack, they sent us home for the day and a bunch of my coworkers went down there to help cut away some of the steel wreckage..it was a total disaster and a sad site!

I have a few friends that are setting the steel on the new towers going up now.

Were actually heading to NY tommorrow for the ceremony.

Asleep in bed. My then-girlfriend woke me up and said I had to see what was happening. Got out to the TV just in time to see the 2nd plane hit and I told her it had to have been Al Qaeda/Bin Laden. Spent the rest of the day glued to the TV, just like everybody else I'm sure....

Was at college in between classes. when someone said the ther WTC was hit by a plane. I thought it was just a small piper cub type plane. Did not realize the extent of what was going on until I got in the car to drive home and was listening to the news. It was strange not to see or hear any planes that day in the sky when they were all grounded. I have been watching the special on cable about the new buildings there and the memorial. It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years. We will never forget.

I was in the Navy at that time, stationed at NAS Jacksonville,Fl. We were studying for a test when someone came in and told us that a plane had hit one of the towers. We obviously started freaking out when he came in a second time and told us that the second plane hit. We all crammed into the duty office, watching a small tv, as the events unfolded. It was so tense.... We had probaly 70-80 people in the office, crowded up- No rank really mattered at that moment. We were told to go to our residence (barracks for me), and await further instruction. They were getting all of the civilians off of the base as fast as they could, and securing everything they could. For three days we were not allowed to leave base, and nothing was open except the galley. I stayed in my room for awhile, watching TV and playing Tony Hawk on N64 (don't hate!)
I don't really remember having much feeling except sadness. I don't easily upset, but I remember tearing up a few times. After that day, it took forever to get on/off base. The positive that came out of it was the support everyone gave us- military discounts were everywhere, and I even heard of tatoo joints giving American ink for free to military!
I could go on and on- such a sad day, and time.

was sitting in my NJROTC class Beginning of my Senior year in High School, In June of that year I had already signed my papers and contract for the Navy. was kinda funny cause a few of us that joined the military that year got interviewed by the local paper asking if we had signed up because of what had happened on the 11th. for me though it was a greater sense of pride of joining, did 8 yrs of that now trying to get back in the military so I can finish my 20. Was definitely an emotional experience, watching them fall was definitely the worst feeling ever.

I was at work when the first plane hit. we were all watching the news the rest of the day. About 2hrs later my fire company was dispached to sent our ladder truck and heavy rescue to a staging area in nj. Our heavy rescue went to red hook to stand by. fdny engine 10 returned but ladder 10 never came home. Very sad day R.I.P my brothers 343.

i was at work in arlington va im a plumber the building i was working in kinda backed up to the pentagon it was a new building there were machines operating so we didnt hear a thing until we were all kicked off the job then it took nearly 12 hours to get home

I was out of work with a torn rotator cuff, and just coming out of the shower when I heard my wife(then) say OMG a plane just hit the WTC. I said thats terrible , what happened, and she said she didn't know. I went on getting ready for the day and she said that the second plane hit the 2nd tower. I told that I had heard her, that a plane had hit the WTC, she said no a second plane hit the other tower. We watched for a while and she had to go to work (housing Authority in Gunnison, CO). I hung around the house watching the news, she came home, cause they sent everyone home. We went to some good friends house, mainly cause we didn't want to feel alone, and watched all the reports coming in.
Terrible, terrible day, not just for us, but for all the nations that had people working in the WTC that day. Something I hope I never have to witness again:cry:

I was in a class in middle school - really wild thinking about it now. I remember going home, watching and watching CNN for hours. It was a few days after my Grandma had passed, really dark couple of days.

I woke and turned on the TV to see what I thought was a new movie being filmed in NY about a plane crashing into the WTC. I thought man that shot sure freaking looked real! Then I realized what I saw really just happen! I got up washed my face and set down to watch the news. I could not believe what I was seeing. I was thinking man how could a screw up like this happen if it was an accident. I just shook my head in disbelief. Then the second plane hit the other tower, the Pentagon was hit and the plane crashed in Shanksville,Pa. I could not freaking believe what was taking place. I being a Merchant Marine thought well we are going to war and I will be called into service.

I can remember the small town in central Louisiana that I lived everyone went nuts, as if the plane crashed into the town hall. The people bought up all the gas and diesel there was looooonnnng lines at every station in town and attitudes flared. The town I lived in only had 5 red lights and a hand full of gas stations, 7 or 8 to be exact. People were in chaos everywhere!

I remember that day for another reason, I got my first set of 20 inch wheels. I had a just bought a new truck in August and I went to work for 30 days and came home and ordered the wheels and they showed up on 09/11/2001. I was the first to have a set of 20's in the small hick town where I grew up. Kind dumb I know... I am a conspiracy theory guy but I will hold my tongue on that issue. It was sad to see all the lives lost and families of love ones suffering losses. It was like the OK City bombing but on a much larger scale. 9/11/01 is a day that has redirected the history of the world, our privacy and millions of lives forever. Whoever did the planning for those attacks whether they from the middle east or right here on our own soil I hope you have enough sense to know what you have done is wrong. You have been lied to there is no seven virgins in heaven for you. Also if this was done for you to create methods to control the people with and by fear you are sick!

In my final closing statement...
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!
The only question I have is why did WTC 7 fall it was not even hit!

I 'M watching all this again today and it makes me sick, I know we know where Bin's little army is at. We should boom the shit out of them today.

Anyone who thinks we did this to our selfs needs to move to where bin's army is at and join them. :flipoff:Your on their side by spreading shit like that.

I was driving home from work and heard about the first plane hitting on the radio. Saw the second plane hit on TV live. Never forget

I was woken up by a buddy of mine calling me about a potential terrorist attack on the WTC. At the time we were into playing Counter Strike allot, (A terrorist/ anti terrorist PC game) Thought he was playing a stupid prank on me and went to bed. About 10 min latter my now wife ran into the bedroom to wake me and to look at the news. I came downstairs only in time to see the second plane smash into the building.

Something I will never forget.
