a Traxxas rock crawler

I am gonna call BS they have a facility where they design and diistribute in texas. the made in china sticker on there box's say's they are not made here. I dont think any of the rtr kits are made here by the so called US company's..

Now there is a sad comment if I ever saw one.:-(

Manufactures on this forum? Are you listening?

i didnt say i went in. i just guessed it was truley a factory as it looked.

I have seen pictures the place looks huge. but most warehouse's are large to.. they may make some stuff there I dont know. I do know the rtr come from oversea's

On the topic that big companies releasing more rtr crawler stuff will take away from the creative. Just because some big company releases stuff, doesnt mean anyone has to buy / use their stuff. If you want to use parts as they are not intended to be used (pede trans as a center trans) theres noone stopping you. I think the more crawler stuff released the better. Its a really fun sport, and great for all ages. Crawling isnt about "keeping out the dumb noobs" its about having fun. So more rtr stuff, i think will mean more fun for everyone. Especially the non mechanically inclined folk. I for one really enjoy building haggard trucks from what i have laying around, its my favorite part about the sport. But it would make it alot easier to answer if someone came up to your crawler all dumbfounded, and asked the inevitable "where can i get one?". You could tell them to go buy a Traxxas rockster, or Losi XXXCRawler, or Asociated RC 10-C. (all those names are made up of course, and the apropriate company will pay me accordingly if they are used 8)) Then when they are comfortable with their RTR they can go from there.

Well said, I'd buy a Traxxas crawler as soon as I could afford to! Buying an RTR has never kept me from getting creative with it. Some stuff I won't change out but that depends on what becomes available for the truck and production parts what can be jerry rigged to work the way I want it to without looking too hacked up. They could really piece together a Super class truck with Revo and E-Maxx parts making up much of the drivetrain and some of the electronics from the VXL trucks..................................................."thumbsup"

I can see where people are coming from saying they want to keep the ''noobs'' out and don't want this hobby to explode an be just like any other type of rc.I love going out crawling and people think these things are so cool because they have never seen any thing like it.rc rock crawling is something special that used to require lots of know how and hand made parts. It was about who's rig was built the best and who's design performed the best.No one wants some kid to come up to you with his little pre built traxxas crawler and think its just as good as your rig that you have a grand into and 100's of hours of work.

Oh well more parts is never a bad thing and it is true that traxxas stuff is extremely strong! I beat the crap out of my pede and it keeps going!

I thought Traxxas cars/trucks were built in Taiwan or China? Their headquarters are in the US but I highly doubt Americans are building hundreds of RTR cars/trucks for pennies.

Traxxass is all China and Taiwan crap. They are based out of Texas, but ship all of their manufacturing over seas. My E-Maxx has a sticker on the bottom with a part number, and below is says in quite large letters, "Made in Taiwan". Most of my Losi stuff is made here in the USA, most of their parts at least (when I stockpiled stuff for all my Losi trucks about 2 years ago, it was all made here in the USA). And MOST of the stuff for the Team Associated Monster GT is made here in the USA, and alot of their other stuff too.

in response to the post about Traxxas being built in taiwan, the headquarters and FACTORY are located here in good ol' Texas. I passed by it on a trip to dallas once.

Yeah, umm, are you retarded? They have their MAIN DISTRIBUTING WAREHOUSE in Texas, as well as their headquaters. All of their stuff is made in some factory over in China and/or Taiwan. Seriously, you must be an idiot to honestly think that Traxxas, a brand that you can tell their stuff is made over seas, makes their stuff here. It just isnt going to happen.

Now Losi and AE are a different story.... They have a combination of stuff made here and over seas, but in my other post, I stated that most of my Losi stuff and alot of the AE Monster GT stuff I have is made here. But yeah, I would say it is around 75/25 for AE and Losi. 75% of their stuff is made here and about 25% is made overseas.

I believe Traxxas is all taiwanese, not Chinese and Losi RTRs are all Chinese made now and the parts will interchange with the US made kits and repair parts.

Why change the subjecc. We re talkinn abouut toyyotas

Sorry. Back to the subject... My buddy who just got his liscence has an '85 yota that his dad gave him... only 85k miles. Needs some better seats, but the drivetrain is great and has a bunch of upgrades (Air lockers, heavy duty shafts, 6 inch lift, 36'' tires (which almost seem too big, but actually work very well)) And it sure if fun to go wheelin in it, even though I am only a passenger (I'm not quite old enough for my permit yet...)

"Thanks for your PM. Right now there are no plans to produce a rock crawler. I was lucky to get them to let me do a tire, let alone a body. I'm still trying to convince them that the R/C rock Crawling is a viable market. That bad news is that even if I got th ok today, it would take a least 12 months to design, test and tool. Who knows where the market may be by then. I'll keep trying "
Thanks again,
Rich

That was a direct PM back to my bro-n-law for Rich as Losi. I would like to see another company get into the game. I was hoping for Losi, we will see.
